This Iced Caramel Latte is one of my favorite coffee drinks, and I’m sure it’ll become yours too. It’s smooth, refreshing, and has the added bonus of a caffeine boost.

There’s something truly special about sipping a cold coffee drink on a warm day. Picture yourself sitting outside, soaking up the sun, with a creamy iced caramel latte in your hand.
Plus, it tastes like something straight from a local coffee shop—but you can make it right at home with just a few simple ingredients!
What I love most about this drink is that you can easily change it up to fit your personal taste.
You can pick your milk of choice—maybe soy milk, coconut milk, or even whole milk—so you always get the flavor and creaminess you like best.
Want a stronger coffee taste? Use strong coffee or even a shot of espresso if you have an espresso machine.
Prefer something a bit sweeter? Add a caramel drizzle or use homemade caramel sauce to really bring out that caramel flavor. The sky’s the limit.
You don’t need to buy k-cup pods or track down special ingredients from the grocery store. This Iced Caramel Latte is so easy, it might just become your go-to drink on hot afternoons!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
DO I HAVE TO USE INSTANT COFFEE?
No, you don’t have to use instant coffee.
You can use strong brewed coffee, cold brew coffee, or even shots of espresso if you have an espresso machine.
Instant coffee is just a quick and easy option that makes it super simple to whip up your own iced caramel lattes at home.
Go with whatever coffee flavor you like best!
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT MILK?
Absolutely! You can use any milk of your choice.
Some people love whole milk for a creamy iced caramel latte, while others prefer non-dairy milk like soy milk, coconut milk, or even almond milk.
Different milks may give you different results, but that’s the fun part—experimenting until you find your favorite brand and flavor.
Your homemade version should be whatever fits your tastes best.

ANY ADDITIONS?
Want to take this easy recipe to the next level? Try adding:
- A sprinkle of brown sugar for a richer taste
- A pinch of salt to create a salted caramel flavor
- A drizzle of chocolate syrup for a mocha twist
- A handful of crushed ice cubes to make it extra cold
- A swirl of milk foam if you have a milk frother
- A splash of vanilla extract for a sweeter aroma
- A spoonful of simple syrup if you like it sweeter
- A sprinkle of cinnamon on top for a spicy kick
- A tiny bit of maple syrup for a cozy fall taste
- A layer of cold foam on top for a coffee shop style finish
ANY SUBSTITUTIONS?
Need to switch things up? Try these simple ingredient substitutions:
- Use honey instead of sugar for a more natural sweetener
- Replace caramel syrup with a vegan caramel sauce if you follow a plant-based diet
- Swap regular milk with unsweetened almond milk for fewer calories
- Use a shot of espresso instead of instant coffee for a bolder coffee flavor
- Try a spoonful of hot chocolate mix instead of caramel for a chocolatey treat
- Switch the whipped cream with milk foam if you prefer a lighter topping

HOW TO STORE:
Refrigerator:
If you make extra or want to save some for later, pour your homemade iced caramel latte into an airtight container or a tall glass covered with plastic wrap.
Keep it in the fridge and enjoy it within a day.
The milk and coffee flavor can start to fade after too long, and the ice will melt if left too long. For best flavor, drink it fresh.
Freezer:
Freezing your iced caramel latte recipe isn’t the best idea because the milk may separate, and the flavor can change.
If you want to store something, freeze strong cold brew coffee ice cubes.
Then, next time you make an iced latte, you can use those coffee ice cubes instead of regular ones.
This will keep your drink cold without watering it down.
DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Use the Right Glass: A tall glass makes it easier to layer your milk, coffee, and caramel in a pretty way.
- Cool Your Coffee First: If you’re not using instant coffee, let your coffee cool to room temperature before adding it to the milk.
- Add Ice Last: Place the ice cubes in the glass before pouring in your coffee mixture so the layers form nicely.
- Taste as You Go: Everyone has different calorie needs and likes their coffee a certain sweetness.
- Use Quality Coffee: Even though it’s a simple drink, using a good-quality instant coffee or a strong brewed coffee can make all the difference in flavor.
- Have Fun With It: Don’t be afraid to try different syrups or seasonal conditions. Maybe next time, add a little vanilla or hazelnut syrup!
