GLP-1 Recipes That Actually Fill You Up

When you are eating smaller, every bite has to earn its spot. That is the whole idea behind this page. Real dinners, more protein, lighter on the heavy stuff, and nothing that tastes like a diet.

We are not doctors and this is not medical advice. These are the recipes from our kitchen that people on GLP-1 medications keep telling us work for them: protein first, regular grocery store ingredients, and portions that satisfy without a food coma after. If it is on this page, we make it in our own house.

Start with the baked mahi and the Marry Me Chicken. Those two get more repeat cooks than anything else here.

Want the short list? Our High-Protein Dinners That Earned a Permanent Spot in Our Rotation roundup is the ten we cook most, with the protein counts.

How We Build a GLP-1 Meal Plan

You do not need a fancy system. We build a week the same way every time: protein first, a vegetable that fills the plate, and a dinner we already know we will actually eat. On a GLP-1 that is usually enough.

Here is the shape of a normal week in our house:

  • Pick three dinners you can repeat. The white chicken chili and the baked mahi pull double duty as next-day lunches.
  • Add a protein salad you make on Sunday. The chicken salad and the tuna salad both keep for days.
  • Keep one sweet snack on hand so a craving does not turn into a detour. Candied grapes do the job.
  • Lean on soup when your appetite is small. A bowl fills you up on less.

That is the whole plan. Real food, more protein, portions that satisfy without the food coma.

High-Protein Chicken Dinners

Chicken is the workhorse. Marry Me Chicken for a night that feels special, Parmesan baked tenders for the kids, honey garlic and sticky ginger when you want takeout flavor without the takeout.

Fish and Seafood

Fast, light and full of protein. The baked mahi is the most cooked recipe in this whole category, and the cod piccata is done in twenty minutes.

Sandwiches, Salads and Lighter Lunches

Lunch is where a small appetite gets tricky. A grilled chicken club copycat, a turkey burger that is not dry, and two protein salads you can make on Sunday and eat all week.

Soups and Chili

A bowl of soup fills you up on less. White chicken chili is the one we make most, and the Zuppa Toscana tastes like the restaurant version without the bill.

Vegetable Sides

The sides that carry a plate. Collard greens and black eyed peas from our Southern side of the family, a green bean stir fry, and two potato recipes that do not need a stick of butter.

Breakfast and Sweet Snacks

A smoothie bowl with oats for the mornings, and candied grapes for the moment you want something sweet and a whole dessert is too much.
