A tasty and fun make-at-home restaurant recipe, this Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club has serious flavor, saves you money, and is a delicious sandwich for whenever that takeout craving is calling.
I’m a huge Chick-fil-A fan, it is probably one of our most visited places when we are looking for something quick and easy instead of having to make dinner.
But I also hate always spending my time going to the restaurant and spending extra money on every time, so why not make our favorites at home?
This Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club has always been my go-to, and it is seriously delicious. It packs so much flavor in one sandwich that you will not be able to get enough.
From all the toppings, to the marinade and the sauce, everything just works so well together, and dare I say that it is better than the original?
If you want to save time and money, but still get your favorite takeout meal, then I highly suggest making our Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club.
Some of our other favorite chicken recipes that we have on our site include: Chicken Cobb Salad, Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches and Ritz Cracker Chicken.

HOW TO MAKE A CHICK-FIL-A GRILLED CHICKEN CLUB:
- Cut the breasts in half lengthwise, set aside.
- In a large bowl whisk together the pickle juice, milk, powdered sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and paprika.
- Add the chicken to the marinade and coat the chicken. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
- While the chicken is marinating, make the sauce. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, bbq sauce, honey, dijon, lemon juice, and paprika. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge until ready to use.
- Preheat the grill over medium heat. Cook the chicken, flipping occasionally until an internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the breast, up to 15 minutes total. Take off the heat and top each piece of chicken with a slice of cheese to melt slightly.
- To assemble, remove the tops off the buns, add lettuce and a tomato slice on top. Add a piece of chicken followed by a slice of bacon broken in half so it fits.
- Spread the honey roasted bbq sauce on the bottom side of the top bun. Add to the sandwiches and enjoy.
CAN I MAKE THIS INTO A CLASSIC CHICKEN SANDWICH?
Absolutely, the only difference between this recipe and the classic is the cheese and bacon. So all you will have to do is leave off those two and you’ll have that sandwich.
CAN I USE ANOTHER CHEESE?
While the choices at the actual restaurant are pepper jack and colby jack, if you are not a fan of them, you can use any of your favorite cheeses.
Some other options include: cheddar, monterey jack, provolone, gouda, etc. Just go with what your favorite cheese is, it will go great with the flavors.
WHAT OTHER CHANGES CAN I MAKE TO THIS SANDWICH?
While this copycat recipe is as close to the original as possible, we understand that people really like to customize their sandwiches.
Some things that you can do is swap out your toppings, not a fan of lettuce or tomato you can leave them off or just add what you’d like.
The bacon that we like to use is thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, you can use any bacon that you have on hand.
The sauce is really important to this sandwich as it is our favorite sauce that they have, and goes on this sandwich at the restaurant. But feel free to use any of your favorite sauces to top this with, or leave the sauce off altogether.
HOW TO STORE:
This can be stored unassembled in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to 3 days. Store everything in separate airtight containers.
The chicken can also be frozen, place in a freezer container and it will keep for up to 3 months.
To reheat place in the microwave or oven just until heated through, if any longer, you run the chance of it drying out.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We like to use a sweet BBQ sauce for the sauce.
- You can use thin-cut chicken breasts if you can find them.
- Easily double this recipe to serve more people.
- Thick-cut bacon works best, but use what you have on hand.
- Other cheeses can be used, see above on ideas.
- This can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
- We like to use multi-grain buns, but use your favorite buns.
- Top with your favorite toppings.
- The chicken needs to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 4 hours.
