When it comes to baked breads and muffins, I’m all for it. I usually try to serve a bread side with all of our meals and these Cheese Muffins are one of our favorite.

HERE IS WHAT OUR READERS ARE SAYING:

“Looks delicious…my family would love these! They look really tasty!” – Jodee

They are literally the easiest muffin to whip up ever. With minimal ingredients, you really can’t go wrong at all, plus you can change up the cheese if you like.

I especially love muffins because you really don’t expect them to be savory, but trust me when I say savory muffins are one of the best things ever created.

The cheese really makes these, but let’s not forget that awesome garlic butter sauce that it is brushed with right after it is done baking.

Just talking about those flavors makes my mouth water! There are certain recipes that get me every time.

You really can’t go wrong when these grace your dinner table. There are hardly any left when we make these, we have a habit to snack on them throughout the day.

Which is perfectly fine because you can eat these cheese muffins any time you want, as is, with a meal, or if you want a midnight snack!

Some of my other favorite bread sides that we have on our site include: Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks, Cheesy Pesto Pull Apart Rolls and Twisted Chorizo Breadsticks.

I love these as a quick snack or a side dish. Throw a thing or two in from this list and make the recipe your own!

  • Bacon Bits: Add crispy bacon bits to the dry ingredients for a smoky flavor.
  • Green Onions: Finely chopped green onions can be mixed into the muffin batter for a fresh taste.
  • Sour Cream: Stir in a dollop of sour cream to the wet ingredients for extra moisture.
  • Jalapeños: Dice up jalapeños for a spicy kick in your savoury muffins.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top before baking for a cheesy crust.
  • Fresh Chives: Mix fresh chives into the batter for added herbiness.
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Chop and add sun-dried tomatoes to the flour mixture for a tangy twist.
  • Black Pepper: A pinch of black pepper enhances the flavor of these cheddar muffins.
  • Olives: Sliced olives can be a tasty addition to these savory muffins.
  • Garlic Powder: Add a little garlic powder to the dry ingredients for extra garlic flavor.

For best results, try something new! Let me know in the comments how it turns out for you.

  • Cheddar Cheese: Swap out for mozzarella cheese or a combination of cheeses for different flavors.
  • All-Purpose Flour: Use almond flour for a lower carb count and gluten-free option.
  • Whole Milk: Substitute with vegetable oil or olive oil for a denser muffin.
  • Unsalted Butter: Replace with melted butter or coconut oil in equal amounts.
  • Fine Sea Salt: Use kosher salt if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Egg: Substitute with a flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water) for a vegan option.

Stored in an airtight container or ziptop bag these will keep at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.

These can also be frozen. Let muffins fully cool then place in a freezer bag and they should keep in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. Let defrost at room temperature.
