These delicious and filling Garlic Cheese Muffins are packed full of shredded cheese and finished off with a savory garlic butter sauce. The perfect side to any meal!
When it comes to baked breads and muffins, I’m all for it. I usually try to serve a bread side with all of our meals and these Garlic Cheese Muffins are one of our favorite.
They are literally the easiest muffin to whip up ever. With minimal ingredients, you really can’t go wrong at all, plus you can change up the cheese if you like.
I especially love muffins because you really don’t expect them to be savory, but trust me when I say savory muffins are one of the best things ever created.
The cheese really makes these, but let’s not forget that awesome garlic butter sauce that it is brushed with right after it is done baking.
You really can’t go wrong when these grace your dinner table. There are hardly any left when we make these, we have a habit to snack on them throughout the day.
Which is perfectly fine because you can eat these bad boys any time you want, as is, with a meal, or if you want a midnight snack!
Some of my other favorite bread sides that we have on our site include: Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks, Cheesy Pesto Pull Apart Rolls and Twisted Chorizo Breadsticks.

HOW TO MAKE GARLIC CHEESE MUFFINS?
- Preheat the oven to 375°F degrees. Spray a muffin tin with baking spray, brush the spray around with a pastry brush to make sure it is evenly coated, set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and butter.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture and stir until combined. Evenly distribute the batter between the sections of the muffin tin.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top. Stir together the butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and parsley until combined.
- While the muffins are still hot out of the oven, brush them evenly with the butter mixture, use it all! Take the muffins out and serve warm.
CAN I USE OTHER CHEESE?
Absolutely, we love the taste of sharp cheddar in these as it really lets the cheese shine through, but you can use any of your favorite cheeses such as:
- Mild Cheddar
- Pepper Jack
- Monterey Jack
- Colby Jack
- Muenster
- Parmesan
CAN I ADD ANYTHING TO THESE?
These Garlic Cheese Muffins are a great recipe to add some additional ingredients if you want to. Some of the ones that we have added in before include ham, bacon, jalapeno, etc.
Whatever you think would go great with the garlic and cheese flavor would be a perfect addition to this muffin recipe.
HOW TO STORE:
Stored in an airtight container or ziptop bag these will keep at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.
These can also be frozen. Let muffins fully cool then place in a freezer bag and they should keep in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. Let defrost at room temperature.
