If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth with an oreo stuffed red velvet brownie then you need these Cookies and Cream Red Velvet Brownies in your life.
Now that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, red velvet everything is in high demand! I’m a huge red velvet fan especially when it comes to these Cookies and Cream Red Velvet Brownies!
We just love a classic Red Velvet Cupcake but I wanted to do something more. I really like “bar” recipes, they are cute, handheld and so easy to customize.
Stuffing these Red Velvet Brownies with Oreos then letting cookies and cream kisses melt on top and smoothing them out like a frosting just take these over the top!
Jeremy even said this was the best dessert I’ve ever made… now that’s saying something! And trust me I’ve made a lot of desserts in my day!
Some of my other favorite red velvet recipes that we have on our site include Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake, Red Velvet Nutella Trifle and Red Velvet Pancakes!
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Easily available and minimal ingredient are used to make these.
- You can double the recipe if you like.
- You can switch out the topping for something different like a cream cheese frosting, etc.
UGH, yes! Words cannot describe how amazing these are. Can’t you just tell by these pics, woah! Sorry if you caught me drooling there.
HOW TO MAKE RED VELVET BROWNIES:
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium-sized bowl, add in the flour, salt and cocoa powder. Whisk to combine and set aside.
-
In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until thoroughly combined. Add in the eggs one at a time and mix, add in vanilla and food coloring, mix to combine. Mix in about 1/4 of the flour mixture at a time until everything is combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
-
In a 9×9 pan, line with parchment paper and place half of the brownie mixture in the bottom, spreading to coat evenly.
-
Next, layer in the Oreos. Pour the remaining batter on top and smooth the top. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
-
Place on a wired rack and immediately top with the kisses. Wait 10 minutes for the kisses to melt and with a spatula, smooth the kisses over the entire top. Let cool completely, place in the fridge and let set for an hour. (Or, if you prefer them warm you can skip the fridge.)
-
Cut into bars, serve and enjoy!
ITEMS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE:
Everyone will go crazy over these Red Velvet Brownies! I know my whole family does, we make them every Valentine’s Day or even around Christmas, but there isn’t a day that isn’t good for these!
HOW TO STORE:
Cut brownies, stored in an airtight container or ziptop bag will last about 1-2 days at room temperature, if you leave them in the pan and cut as needed they will last a bit longer, up to 4 days.
You can also freeze this Red Velvet Brownie Recipe! I like to cut and individually wrap my pars in plastic wrap or tin foil and place in a freezer bag, they will keep for up to 3 months.
To defrost just let them sit on the countertop until they come to room temperature.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We make these homemade but if you want to make them using a boxed mix just mix with 1/3 cup oil and 2 eggs and you should get the same texture.
- If you cant find cookies and cream kisses, any kisses will do, even the almond ones, white chocolate chips, or just top with cream cheese or buttercream frosting.
- You can switch up your Oreos for fun festive colors, I know usually this time of year they have red Oreos out that you can use as well.
- These can be frozen, see my tips above on how you can do that.
- Easily double this recipe to make a 9″x 13″ pan.
If you want a fun and flavorful treat for Valentine’s Day or just because you love red velvet then you have to make a batch of these Cookies and Cream Red Velvet Brownies.

These look amazing! Would this work with hersey cookies and cream chocolate bars too? Unfortunately they don’t sell hersey kisses where I live.
Dana DeVolk says
YES! I actually just had to do that over Christmas, worked just the same! I would break them up though so it melts faster, thanks for asking! 🙂

Tried this recipe- love the Oreos in the middle!!! Didn’t have any cookies and cream kisses, so I melted white chocolate and mixed in some crushed Oreos- it worked really well. The actually brownie seemed a lot more like a cake than I had expected- not moist like the brownies I’m used to. Perhaps more my fault than the recipe, but that’s the one thing I’d want to change in future. Anyhow, still tastes great (super sweet and rich- YUM), thanks for sharing the recipe!
