Halloween Recipes: Spooky Treats, Drinks and Party Food

Halloween at our house is not a dinner. It is a spread. Mummy dogs on a sheet pan, a punch bowl with eyeballs floating in it, dirt cups lined up on the counter, and a kid who cannot decide which one to grab first.

Every recipe on this page is one we have actually made for a party, a class, or a Tuesday in October when the mood hit. Regular grocery store ingredients, a bag of candy eyes, and about thirty minutes for most of them. If it needs a special tool, it is not here.

Start with the mummy dogs and the eyeball punch. Those two are the ones people ask for every year.

Mummy Dogs and Party Food

The savory stuff that disappears first. Mummy dogs, mummy pretzel dogs, a mummy stromboli, and jalapeno popper mummies for the grown ups.

Spooky Drinks

Punch with floating eyeballs for the kids, witches brew for the adults, and a slow cooker hot chocolate that makes the whole house smell like October.

Dirt Cups, Poison Apples and Showstoppers

The ones people take pictures of. Graveyard pudding cups, gummy worm cupcakes, and candy apples that look like they came out of a fairy tale.

Easy Halloween Treats

Ghost brownies, swirled Halloween bark, chocolate pretzel rods, muddy buddies. Most take a half hour and a bag of candy eyes.

Halloween Cookies and Bakes

Mummy sugar cookies, decorated ghosts and pumpkins, bat macarons, and vampire kiss hand pies for the lunchbox.

More for October

New Halloween recipes land here first through the end of October. For the pumpkin bread, the chili, and everything else cozy, the fall category has the whole season.
