With minimal ingredients and time this Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe whips up quick. The perfectly fruity and refreshing drink for the summer!
I love me a good smoothie. I always have, but I have a personal affliction to loving strawberry and banana flavors together. I know it’s super basic and common but I can’t help it.
I also love some easy recipes and you really can’t get much easier than this Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe, with super minimal ingredients is a breeze!
We make these a lot for on-the-go breakfasts, to drink while sitting outside, or just because we are craving a nice and easy fruity drink.
There really is no right or wrong time to blend up a smoothie in my opinion at all! So this has become a staple in our household.
Some of our other favorite warm-weather drinks we have on our site include Hibiscus Tea, Peach Arnold Palmer and Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With only 4 ingredients you can’t go wrong.
- You can double this recipe to make more.
- If you want if frozen then you can add frozen bananas and strawberries.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE BELOW):
Banana
Strawberries
Honey
Raspberry Kefir or low fat plain or vanilla yogurt
Don’t you just love how minimal those ingredients are? We love using kefir for this recipe it gives it a nice and creamy texture that we love.
With the addition to the natural sweetening of the honey in this, you really can’t go wrong. I like natural sweeteners when I can, and this smoothie comes out to be really healthy as well.
This is another reason why we keep making this recipe over and over again! Trust me once you try it you will understand why we love it so much.
HOW TO MAKE A STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE RECIPE:
- Chop up fruit and add to the blender with remaining ingredients.
- Blend until completely smooth with no chunks.
WHAT IS KEFIR?
Kefir is a healthy, fermented food with a consistency comparable to drinkable yogurt. This is why we say you can use this, if you can’t find it you can use yogurt for a replacement.
CAN I USE FROZEN FRUIT?
You can absolutely use frozen fruit for this. We a lot of the time have frozen strawberries and bananas in our freezer for use later on, so it is one thing that we actually do a lot.
This will make the texture less watery and thicker which is another benefit from using frozen fruit in my opinion!
We love smoothies so much and we make them all the time that some of our other favorite smoothies include:
This is just a shortlist of ones that we love and make regularly, there are so so so many variations out there that the combination of flavors goes on.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- This makes one smoothie, you can absolutely double or triple the recipe to make more.
- Substitute the fruit out for frozen if you’d like.
- If you can’t find kefir you can use yogurt, see my tips above.
- This can be made in a blender or a food processor, no need for anything high-powered unless you are using frozen ingredients.
