It doesn’t get easier than this one, folks. With only 2 ingredients, these Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage Links are not only fast but a healthier option.

The best part about this link sausage recipe is the crispy skin. Air frying actually crisps the skin, making them even more irresistible.

Like many air fryer recipes, this one takes less time and effort than traditional cooking. All you have to do is spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray, add the sausages, flip them once, and done, that’s it!

If this is your first time using an air fryer, don’t be intimated, just follow the easy directions at the bottom of this post, and your pork sausages will be ready in no time!

Be warned, you may get a little steam coming out of the air fryer but that is totally normal. Trust me, this is the easiest way for cooking breakfast sausage links, as opposed to the stove top.

The smell is also intoxicating making everyone ready to get up and start their day, but they are also great as a dinner option or to use in other recipes.

Paired with your other favorite breakfast items, or even good on their own, you will make these Easy Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage Links again and again!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

I use thinner sausages when I make breakfast sausage links, this is a personal preference, and they cook up quicker.

My favorite brand is Johnsonville original breakfast sausage links. But, use your favorite brand of thinner sausages for this recipe, Jimmy Dean is also a safe bet.

Be advised, if you use thicker sausages, the cook time may take a few extra minutes. Just remember to temp the sausage with the meat thermometer and once they hit 160 degrees f, they are ready.

160 degrees f will ensure you are left with juicy sausages. If you go over in temperature, they may become dried out. Don’t worry too much though, since there is normally a lot of fat in sausage, they will stay juicy even if you go over temperature.

WHY DO I HAVE TO USE OLIVE OIL SPRAY?

You don’t HAVE to use olive oil spray. I just always recommend it because, from experience, this is the only oil that does not leave residue behind after cleaning.

You can use any cooking spray you like, but then you may have a harder clean up and lasting stains.

A clean air fryer is a beautiful thing, so it is best when you can take the steps to keep it that way!

DOES THIS METHOD WORK WITH PRECOOKED SAUSAGES?

Yes, use the exact same method, however, cooking times may vary.

Just remember to check for the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.

WHAT CAN I SERVE THESE WITH?

To make a complete breakfast, you can serve up this air fryer sausage recipe with other breakfast staples such as:

  • Hash browns
  • Eggs, scrambled or fried
  • Toast
  • English Muffin
  • Pancakes

ARE THESE HEALTHY?

This cooking method makes these sausages a touch on the healthier side since they are air-fried, and not pan-fried.

There is no additional oil used in the recipe, other than to spray the basket, so they don’t stick.

Excess fat from the sausages drips down into the bottom of the air fryer, so you are not ingesting all that fat.

For these reasons, air frying is a healthier option, but check the nutrition facts on the back of your package of sausages for more information.
