Have you ever wanted a snack that’s both crispy and gooey, something that’s a little bit of everything and a lot of awesome? Let me introduce you to my recipe for Marshmallow Treats!
Today is your lucky day. These Marshmallow Treats are something special. With a variety of Chex cereal, nuts, and melty marshmallows, they’ll satisfy any hunger craving.
Each bite is a little bit of heaven – gooey from the marshmallows, crunchy from the Chex, and a touch of salty sweetness from the nuts and pretzels. It’s just heavenly.
My husband, Jeremy, grew up on Chex Mix. Seriously guys, he would buy stockpiles of the stuff when we were first married. He says this recipe reminds him of that.
Lucky for him, he married a food nut. Ha! I can’t help but make my own homemade version of things like this.
It’s a no bake snack that’s a lot like making rice crispy treats. I suppose you could call them cereal treats!
Make sure the kids get involved in making them. Melting the miniature marshmallows and cereal ingredients in a large pot is too much fun to pass up.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
DO THESE KEEP THEIR SHAPE?
Absolutely! Once these marshmallow treats have cooled down and set, they maintain their shape wonderfully.
This means you can easily cut them into smaller pieces or fun shapes without worrying about them falling apart.
It’s one of the best parts of this recipe – the treats are sturdy enough to pack in lunchboxes, stack for a bake sale, or even wrap up as sweet treats for a birthday party.
And if you’re trying them for the first time, you’ll be delighted to see how well they hold up, making them perfect for sharing and serving next time you have a party or gathering.
DO I HAVE TO ADD NUTS?
Nuts in these treats are completely optional. While they add a delightful crunch and a hint of savory flavor that contrasts nicely with the sweet marshmallow mixture, they aren’t essential.
If you’re not a fan of nuts, or if you’re making these for someone with allergies, you can easily leave them out.
Alternatively, you can get creative and replace them with other ingredients like crunchy cereal mixtures, such as Fruity Pebbles or Lucky Charms, for a fun snack twist.
Remember, the best recipes are those that you can adapt to suit your tastes!
BEST WAY TO STORE?
The key to storing marshmallow treats so they retain their amazing texture is to keep them in an air-tight container, with each layer separated by wax or parchment paper.
This method prevents the treats from sticking to each other, maintaining their perfect texture. If you’re using leftover or store-bought marshmallows, this storage method helps to keep the treats as fresh as possible.
They can last a good couple of days at room temperature, so you can continue to enjoy their gooey, crispy goodness. I like to keep them in the fridge, though as I feel they keep their shape better.
For longer storage, you can even keep them in the freezer – just make sure they’re well-wrapped to avoid freezer burn.
