This Christmas Trail Mix is a perfect recipe for those that need to throw something together super quick but it still needs to be yummy and fun!

HERE IS WHAT OUR READERS ARE SAYING:

“This dish is so pretty. It also looks delicious! Thanks for sharing” – Sherry

This Trail Mix would be so perfect for a school party, holiday gathering or just to have it around the house! Bag it up in little individual bags and you’re good to go when giving away!

I know normally you think trail mix, and healthy normally goes right along with that. Well, sorry but not this one!

I did make sure to get the normal “trail mix” ingredients in there like nuts and dried fruit but this is just so much for fun with the wintery bits!

I always make a large batch of this stuff. It just disappears so quickly! I suppose sweet treats always do around the holidays, haha!

Leave it out at your Christmas party or just munch on it while you sit at your desk. It’s a good way to feel the holiday cheer.

Get a big bowl of this Christmas Trail Mix. It’s the perfect snack for the holidays. It’s even great for New Year’s Eve!

Some of my other favorite holiday mixes and snacks include Reindeer Chow Muddy Buddies, Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels and Cinnamon Sugar Roasted Pecans.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

I love to add a variety of nuts, chocolate, dried fruit and cereal (like chex mix!).

It is a really versatile recipe that you can adapt any way that you like.

The sky is the limit though!

Other tasty add ins could be candies or popcorn! Anything that you would consider holiday flavors would work perfectly!

It can be! But this version isn’t the most “healthy” if that is what you are wondering.

This is more of a Christmas treat rather than a healthy snack.

You better believe it! That’s one of the best things about trail mix. Add what you like!

  • Rice Chex Cereal: Mix in Rice Chex to create a crunchy cereal mixture that’s a hit at holiday parties.
  • Golden Grahams: Add Golden Grahams for a sweet, honey flavor that complements the other ingredients.
  • Pretzel Twists: Include pretzel twists for extra crunch and a touch of salty flavor.
  • White Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle in white chocolate chips to enhance the sweetness.
  • Christmas Sprinkles: Add festive holiday sprinkles to make it perfect for Christmas parties and Christmas Eve gatherings.
  • Popcorn: Toss in some popped popcorn for a light and airy texture.
  • Regular M&M’s: If you can’t find holiday-themed ones, regular M&M’s work just as well.
  • Dried Cherries: Substitute or add alongside cranberries for more fruity goodness.
  • Peanuts or Cashews: Include nuts for a delightful mix of sweet and salty flavors.
  • Chocolate-Covered Pretzels: Use milk or dark chocolate-covered pretzels for a different chocolate twist.

Bring on the Christmas snack mix and get your holiday cheer on. It’s a holiday gift that everyone will love.

  • Muddy Buddies: Replace with homemade Chex Mix or classic Chex Mix for a savory option.
  • Yogurt Covered Raisins: Substitute with chocolate-covered raisins or plain raisins.
  • Holiday M&M’s: Use regular M&M’s or any colorful candy-coated chocolates.
  • Cocoa Roasted Almonds: Swap with regular roasted almonds, peanuts, or pretzel twists.
  • White Chocolate Covered Pretzels: Use plain pretzels and drizzle with melted white chocolate or vanilla almond bark.
  • Dried Cranberries: Replace with other dried fruits like raisins, apricots, or golden grahams for added sweetness.

The best way to store this Trail Mix Recipe is to store in an airtight container or ziptop bag and it should last for about 1 month.

Storing in the refrigerator will not make this last any longer, so leaving out at room temperature is best!
