With minimal and simple ingredients this Pink Lemonade Recipe is easy and quick to whip up and will be everyones favorite drink of the summer!
If you haven’t had the chance to ever try Pink Lemonade you are absolutely missing out. I am a huge Pink Lemonade lover and would take it over the regular any day.
That said, I love making my own homemade Pink Lemonade Recipe. You won’t believe how simple it is and how tasty. You will absolutely fall in love with this drink.
Our whole family can’t get enough of it and it is the best summer thirst quencher out there. We try to keep a pitcher in our refrigerator all summer because it is our go-to drink.
I just can’t stress enough about how easy it is to make your own at home instead of buying cartons at the store or the drink mixes you add to water.
Now I like them and have used them in the past but there really isn’t anything better than homemade in my opinion so that is what we like to do with this recipe.
Some of my other favorite recipes we have on our site include Peach Arnold Palmer, Hibiscus Tea, and Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With only 4 ingredients you can’t go wrong.
- You can double this batch to serve more people.
- You can make it as sweet as you’d like.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE BELOW):
Water
Granulated sugar
Lemon juice
Grenadine
Look at those simple ingredients! You really can’t go wrong when it comes to 4 ingredients in a recipe, especially a drink recipe that makes a large batch.
This is why we love it so much, also we usually have all the ingredients on hand at any given time so that is a plus as well.
HOW TO MAKE THIS PINK LEMONADE RECIPE:
- Place half of the water into a medium-size saucepot. Add the sugar and whisk it together. Place over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved. You know the sugar is dissolved when the mixture becomes clear again. Let it cool slightly on the countertop.
- To a large pitcher, add the lemon juice, sugar water, the remaining 2 cups water, and grenadine.
- Stir to combine.
- Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours to chill and serve over ice.
CAN I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE?
Absolutely, if you are planning on having guests or think you will go through a pitcher really quickly doubling it would be a great idea.
My suggestion for this is either to use a large punch bowl or use two pitchers because doubling the amount will not fit in your normal-sized pitcher.
CAN I MAKE THIS LESS SWEET?
You can, this recipe is on the sweeter side but not overly sweet, if you want a more mellow Pink Lemonade Recipe then I suggest cutting the sugar by 1/4 cup.
WHAT IS GRENADINE?
Grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup, that is traditionally made from pomegranate. It is an ingredient used in a lot of cocktails mainly for its flavor and how it has the ability to give a red or pink color to drinks.
The syrup itself is a nice sweet flavor that doesn’t overpower the drink at all or change the flavor of the lemonade, you can add more or less depending on how pink you want your lemonade to be.
HOW TO STORE:
This Pink Lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator (covered preferably) for up to 5-7 days.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can double this batch if you’d like, see my tips above on the best way to do that.
- If you want a less sweet version I would cut the sugar by 1/4 cup.
- You can add more or less grenadine depending on how colorful you want your drink.
- Fresh squeezed lemon juice is best for this, bottled will not give you the same flavor but you can use bottled in a pinch.
- This needs to sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so it can chill and the flavors can blend together.
