I love refreshing summer drinks, especially ones that the whole family can enjoy and that is exactly what this Limeade Recipe is. Super simple which I absolutely love.

When I can make drinks at home I feel more accomplished, I try to make as much stuff at home as I can because I like to learn and not have to spend money on things at the store.

Don’t get me wrong I really love to just whip up something quick or get take out from time to time but we like to be able to make something fresh when we want to.

My Mom’s first job was at the Woolworth’s lunch counter in the summers during high school and she had to make the limeade. So, homemade limeade is something we have always had when I was growing up.

This Limeade Recipe is the perfect easy drink recipe that I think everyone should have it their arsenal. Literally with only 3 ingredients you really can’t go wrong with it at all.

The best part of this is that you can make it in batches so you can sip on it all day long, and it is especially great for those hot summer days where you just want something flavorful to cool down with.

Some of our other favorite summer drinks we have on our site include: Pink Lemonade Recipe, Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea and Hibiscus Tea.

I love baking and we use limes in a lot of other drinks so we have them on hand pretty much at any given time, so it just makes things just that much easier for us.

HOW DO I MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP?

So you can either buy simple syrup which is located in the drink mixer aisle in the store or you can make your own homemade. It really is simple to make it.

To make simple syrup for this recipe you will just want to mix 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved and then let cool completely.

You then add this to your Limeade. See how easy that is, we sometimes like to use the store-bought because it is quicker and you don’t have to wait for it to cool down.

HOW DO I JUICE A LIME?

For this recipe it is best to use fresh lime juice, it really gives it the best flavor honestly. You could use bottled lime juice but you just won’t get that same great taste.

The best thing to to do juice a lime is to get yourself a juicer, you can use a hand press one or one that sites and you place your fruit on top of it and squeeze and spin it.

We like the hand juicer and we will juice it into a cup, the juicer will collect the seeds so you will not have to worry about that!

HOW TO STORE:

This Limeade Recipe can be stored in the refrigerator covered for up to 4 days.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Lime juice and simple syrup can be adjusted to taste for tartness/sweetness.
  • You can make your own simple syrup, see my tips above.
  • You can easily double this recipe to serve to larger crowds, if doing that I would make it in a punch bowl.
  • Fresh lime juice is highly recommended but in a pinch you can use bottled but you won’t get the same flavor.
