Fudge is iconic and one recipe that has long been a favorite and that I make every single year. This is the recipe I make every single year.

This is so easy, you really can’t go wrong with a minimal ingredient recipe that tastes absolutely amazing at the end. Easy and tasty are my two favorite words.

The extra chocolate drizzle really makes these an eye-catcher and wants you to grab them off that dessert tray immediately, at least that is what they do for me.

I have tried so many homemade fudge over the years but this Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe has been one of my favorites and one that we keep coming back to.

Once you try this it will be one of those recipes that you keep on rotation. There are a lot of people who have various fudge recipes, but trust me on this one! So easy you’ll keep wanting to make it.

HOW TO MAKE FUDGE:

  1. Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. This will make for easy removal of the set fudge. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl heat chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  3. Remove from the microwave. Let sit for 1 minute and then stir to combine. Stir until chips are completely melted and chocolate is smooth. If needed, put back in the microwave and heat for an additional 15 seconds or until melted.
  4. Add vanilla extract and combine.
  5. Pour fudge into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
  6. Place the pan in the fridge for at least an hour to cool and set.
  7. Make sure the fudge has cooled completely before cutting into squares.
  8. Melt the white chocolate wafers per the directions on the back of the package. Place the melted white chocolate into a plastic baggie and snip the very tip off one of the corners. You want the hole to be very small or a lot of chocolate will come pouring out. Pipe zig-zag lines on top of the creamy fudge squares. Allow the white chocolate to set before serving.

FAQ: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

You can use your favorite flavor of chocolate but we usually go with semi-sweet in our Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe. It isn’t too sweet and balances out well.

We also like to go with higher quality chocolate for this recipe, it makes the chocolate melt better and easier and has better end results.

Like I said you can use any of your favorite flavors of chocolate so milk and dark will also work, it all depends on what flavor you’re going for, just make sure it is higher quality.

You will either want an 8×8 or 9×9-inch pan for this recipe, the size doesn’t matter it will just determine the thickness of the creamy Fudge itself.

White chocolate can be fussy to melt and likes to seize up so melting wafers are the perfect melting chocolate as they do not hold their shape.

They melt very smoothly and firm up after they have set, so they are the go-to chocolate more for decorating.

Want to dress up your easy fudge recipe even more? Try mixing in or topping your homemade fudge with these tasty extras:

  • Crushed candy canes for a festive crunch
  • Chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for a classic chocolate homemade fudge feel
  • Mini marshmallows for a rocky road twist
  • Swirls of peanut butter or almond butter (great for chocolate peanut butter fudge fans!)
  • Sprinkles for a fun pop of color, especially around the holidays
  • Shredded coconut for a chewy texture
  • Crushed peppermint patties for a minty surprise
  • Bits of toffee or caramel for a buttery bite
  • White chocolate chips or dark chocolate chunks for added texture
  • A layer of hot fudge sauce drizzled on top for a rich finish

Out of something or want to switch it up? Here are simple ingredient swaps for this silky smooth fudge that still give you perfect results:

  • Dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips for a richer flavor
  • Milk chocolate chips if you like a sweeter kind of fudge
  • Bittersweet chocolate for a deep, bold taste
  • White chocolate chips in place of the drizzle, or mix them in for variety
  • Evaporated milk and sugar (use a candy thermometer to watch the temp) instead of sweetened condensed milk for a more old-fashioned fudge
  • Aluminum foil or wax paper instead of parchment paper for lining your square pan
