Happy Sunday! I hope you are ready for another sweet treat! I don’t think it’s any secret that I LOVE chocolate chip cookie dough! So, I made this beauty as a fun twist! Jeremy went NUTS over this cake and I know you will too!
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake with Cookie Dough Glaze
To me, the toppings is kind of a mix between a glaze and a frosting. So, you could really use it in either way! Recipe for bundt cake adapted from here. Recipe for glaze adapted from The Girl Who Ate Everything.
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake with Cookie Dough Glaze
Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 Cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temp
- 1/2 Cup shortening
- 1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 Cups light brown sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 3 Cups all-purpose flour
- 6 eggs
- 1 Tbls vanilla extract
- 1 Cup chocolate chips
- Glaze:
- 1/2 Cup 1 stick unsalted butter, room temp
- 3/4 Cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 Tbls milk
- 1 Cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl using a hand mixer, cream together the butter, shortening and cream cheese. Gradually beat in both sugars. Alternating between the eggs and flour, add in each and mix thoroughly ending with flour, leaving about 1Tbls of the flour and set aside. Stir in the vanilla. Toss the chocolate chips with the remaining flour and fold into the batter.
- Bake in a greased and floured bundt pan for about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let sit in the pan for 10 minutes to cool. Take out of pan and let cool completely on wire rack.
- While the cake is baking, make the glaze. Cream the butter and sugar with a hand mixer. Ad the vanilla and mix. Add the flour and salt until combined. Add in the milk and beat until fluffy. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Once the cake is cooled, dollop the glaze on top and let it run down the sides of the cake. Serve and enjoy!

YUMMY! The cake is a little dense so it does need the glaze, but that’s how all traditional recipes I’ve tried are. Like I said, Jeremy fell in love with this baby and is definitely in my baking rotation! Are you a chocolate chip cookie dough freak like us?! LOL

Your bundt cake was delicious sounding to begin with and then you covered it with yummy cookie dough, wow. Thanks for bringing this to foodie friday.
Dana, this is looks decadent. I am loving the frosting recipe. I need to save this for my son’s birthday party in May. He’d love this.

LOVE this friend!
Can this recipe be made into a cupcake? I want to participate in a competition with a variation of it, but I wanted to know how many cupcakes you think it would make. That way I can budget my costs as far as ingredients and see what I have left for decorations and display pieces.
This is probably not the answer you are looking for but I’m really not sure. Yes, it can be made into cupcakes but I don’t know how many. So sorry, I have never tried!
I’m having trouble getting this to bake all the way through, anybody else?
I made the cake without the frosting for a friends birthday and it got raves. Thank you!!
