With minimal ingredients and great flavor, this Cherry Limeade Cocktail is a perfect spring and summer drink to really quench your thirst on those hot days!

We love a good cocktail and this Cherry Limeade Cocktail has been one that we have been sipping on for years, it is one of my easy go-to recipes with super minimal ingredients.
HERE IS WHAT OUR READERS ARE SAYING:
“These look so refreshing and tasty! Easy to make kid-friendly too. Love!!” – Tammi
Living in Florida I’m always looking for great alcoholic and non-alcohol recipes, especially during the spring and summer when the heat is at its highest.
I love when drinks are super minimal and don’t take a lot of work, and when you have everything on hand. Just sit out on the porch on a hot evening or serve up at a party.
These are pretty much perfect for any occasion where you are wanting a fun and refreshing alcoholic drink that is fruity and enjoyable.
I’m sure you can think of a holiday or get-together that these would be perfect for. Am I right?
If you are looking for a great spring and summer cocktail then this is the one that you have to whip up, I promise that you will not be disappointed.
This Cherry Limeade Cocktail has only 4 ingredients and takes mere minutes to put together, can you really get any better than that? I don’t think so!
Some of my other favorite cocktails we have on our site include: Blueberry Lemonade Cocktails, Melon Prosecco Cocktails and White Wine Spritzer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
HOW DO I MAKE THESE KID-FRIENDLY?
You will omit the vodka and add a bit of seltzer water, ginger ale, or just more lemon lime soda.
This will make a great Cherry Limeade Mocktail that the kids can enjoy!
IS THIS SWEET, CAN I MAKE IT LESS SWEET?
This is not overly sweet but if you want to make it less sweet you can use club soda or seltzer water in place of the soda.
Or, add your favorite sparkling water.
I suggest a lime or lemon-flavored sparkling water if used.

CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD OR IN A LARGE BATCH?
This makes a terrific make-ahead party drink! Add the vodka, grenadine, and fresh lime juice to a pitcher in the amount you want to make for servings.
Stir it together and place it in the fridge. When your guests arrive, pour over ice and top with the soda, give it a little stir then add your garnishes, easy!
DO I HAVE TO USE LIME JUICE?
You can use lemon juice if you don’t have lime, it is still delicious but we prefer lime if you have it. I would also use fresh-squeezed citrus if possible.
ANY ADDITIONS?
You better believe it! Check out this list and see what makes your mouth water.
- Add fresh cherries or frozen cherries to enhance the juicy cherry flavor.
- Garnish with lime wedges or a lime wheel for a sweet citrus twist of lime.
- Stir in a splash of maraschino cherry juice for extra sweetness.
- Use cherry vodka instead of regular vodka for a boozy cherry limeade.
- Top off with more lemon-lime soda to make it a lighter, fizzy drink.
- Muddle fresh limes and sweet cherries at the bottom of the glass for a fresher taste.
- Drizzle a bit of simple syrup if you prefer sweeter drinks.
- Serve in mason jars filled with lots of ice for a classic summer drink vibe.
- Add a sugar rim to the highball glass for a special treat.
- Drop in a maraschino cherry or two as a fun garnish.
ANY SUBSTITUTIONS?
Yes indeed. Right this way folks. I’ve got some great ideas for ya.
- Vodka: Replace with cherry vodka or spiked cherry limeade mix for a different flavor.
- Grenadine: Use maraschino syrup from a jar of maraschino cherries as an alternative.
- Lemon-lime soda: Substitute with limeade concentrate mixed with soda water for a homemade limeade taste.
- Lime juice: Swap with lemon juice for a slightly different citrus flavor.
- Vodka cherry limeade: Make it non-alcoholic by omitting the vodka for those of legal drinking age who prefer mocktails.
- Lime wedges: Use lime slices or wedge of lime for garnish based on availability.
HOW TO STORE:
I don’t recommend storing this, it is best made when you are wanting to drink it. You can store a pitcher omitting the alcohol a few hours before you are serving.
This may lose some of the fizz from the soda, but you technically can make it slightly ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator.
DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:
- This can be made non-alcoholic, see my tips above.
- You can make this ahead and serve in a large pitcher, see how to do that above.
- You can use lemon juice in place of lime juice if desired.
- Easily double this recipe to make more if you are not making a larger pitcher.
