FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
WHAT IS DULCE DE LECHE?
It’s like caramel’s cooler cousin! Dulce de leche is a sweet, sticky sauce made from cooking milk and sugar until it’s thick and golden.
As you can probably tell from the Spanish name, it’s popular in most of Latin America.
Places like Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile have it on practically every street corner.
You can find it canned at the store or make your own—it’s the magic that makes this milkshake recipe so tasty!
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT ICE CREAM?
Oh, yeah! Swap vanilla ice cream for dulce de leche ice cream if you want double caramel power.
Experiment with different flavors to your heart’s content.
Chocolate or even coffee ice cream works too—just pick your fave and blend away!

ANY ADDITIONS?
I’ve got a few ideas here that might make you smile.

- Whipped Cream – Add extra on top—because more fluff is more fun!
- Churros – Stick a little piece in for a crunchy, cinnamon surprise—yum!
- Mexican Chocolate Shavings – Sprinkle some for a fancy Cinco de Mayo vibe.
- Cocoa Powder – Dust a little on top—chocolatey goodness!
- Caramel Rice Krispy Treat – Crumble one in—crisp and sweet!
- Caramel Macaroon – Toss a bit on top—coconut meets caramel!
- Maraschino Cherry – Pop one on for that classic shake look—cute!
- Stroopwafel – Break one up for a waffle-y crunch—fancy pants!
- Fresh Berries – Add strawberries or raspberries—fruity twist!
- Coffee Drink Shot – Splash in some cold coffee—wake-up shake!
ANY SUBSTITUTIONS?
You know I like to have options. I’ll neve leave you hanging!
- Dulce de Leche Ice Cream – Use this instead of vanilla ice cream—caramel overload!
- Canned Whipped Cream – Skip making whipped cream and use this—no powdered sugar needed!
- Milk Alternatives – Swap whole milk for almond or oat milk—still creamy!
- Caramel Sauce – Use this if you can’t find dulce de leche—close enough!
- Honey – Sub this for powdered sugar in the whipped cream—sweet and natural!
- Frozen Yogurt – Replace vanilla ice cream with this for a lighter shake—tasty twist!
HOW TO STORE:
