I love making fruit braids, they are so fun. Mostly I love working with puff pasty as it is such a simple ingredient to do with what you like.

We love serving this Cranberry Orange Braid mainly for breakfast or brunch but it would make a delicious dessert as well as it is still sweet.

This is one of those recipes that we like to make every year during the holidays and the whole family loves it. The flavors of cranberry and orange pair so well together.

Add a little powdered sugar glaze over the top of this and you have yourself one tasty treat, the glaze really makes this and gives it just a little extra flavor.

Some of my other favorite recipes that use puff pasty include Cinnamon Cream Cheese Palmier Cookies, Baked Brie with Walnuts and Honey and Fried Apple Turnovers.

HOW TO STORE:

Usually anything made with puff pastry is best eaten the same day that it it is made, its most crisp and fresh at that time.

If you find yourself having leftovers, you can place them in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 1-2 days at most, otherwise it may become soggy.

We have had to store this on occasion when we do make larger batches, but we still prefer eating this right after it cools and is made.

I really can’t stress enough how good this Cranberry Orange Braid Recipe is. Like I said it is perfect for the holidays as the flavors remind me of Christmastime.

We usually use cranberry and orange during the holiday season as cranberry is more of a winter thing, but would make this all year long as well.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • You can make your own cranberry sauce for this is you like.
  • This can easily be doubled as puff pasty comes in packages with 2 sheets.
  • This can be filled with various other things, see my notes above.
  • Braids are best eaten the day they are made.
