Sweet Chipotle Bacon Crackers, irresistible little nuggets of happiness. Probably not a good idea to make these, you will eat the whole batch!
Ughhhh, fair warning: you WILL get addicted to these bacon crackers! They are everything you have ever dreamed of: sweet, smoky, soft, crunchy, and a tiny hint of heat. Dip them in ranch and you basically don’t even have to eat anything else ever again! Holy…
Where to begin… my mind is all frazzled from the deliciousness of these! So… basically it all started in Walmart, like I do. Paroozing the aisles, I had to think of a recipe that could be taken to a Thanksgiving party!
I knew I wanted to keep it simple with a take on a crudite platter, but you know me I always have to mix things up! I have been seeing these bacon crackers floating around Pinterest for some time and I finally bit the bullet and made them. Now I’m never going back!
I stuffed everything in my cart, checked out and headed home! First things first with a crudite platter is the dip. And, of course ranch is a huge crowd pleaser (and my personal favorite) so I picked up Hidden Valley Ranch Dips, the original, because I’m a traditionalist like that, oh yea.
And, I needed some new containers to tote my veggies and things to the party. I found these Glad Food Storage Containers, the Deep Dish 64 oz 3 count pack in the home good/kitchen section at Walmart.
To make sure the Ranch dip is extra good, you have to make it at least an hour ahead of time so all the flavors can mix together. I love these Hidden Valley packs because you only need sour cream and boom! Instant ranch dip, yum! I went ahead and cut up all my veg too for the platter to get that out of the way.
Really, just go with your gut with any veggies you really like. This is basically the easiest appetizer ever. Now, for the bacon crackers!! I adapted the recipe from Debbie Doo’s.
Sweet Chipotle Bacon Crackers
- 35 rectangle butter crackers
- 9 pieces bacon of your choice
- small handful light brown sugar
- chipotle powder
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut bacon into fourths. Lay out crackers on a wired rack over a sheet tray. Place bacon slices on top, making sure not to touch the other crackers. Sprinkle with the sugar. Sprinkle with the chipotle, just a dash on each piece.
- Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crisp to your liking. Let cool on wired rack for 10 minutes, serve and enjoy!
So easy. So delicious. So addicting.
Serve these babies along side the crudite platter and ranch dip you and have yourself a party!
