If you’ve never tried Bacon in Air Fryer, this is literally life-changing. Minimal mess and you can just set it and forget it while you prepare the rest of your meal, what’s not to love??

Okay… this may shock you, but I love bacon. Like, love, love it. I might get a tattoo to commiserate my love so the whole world can know.

All kidding aside, this is the best bacon and the best way I have come to find to make it. Seriously, perfect bacon.

I get annoyed easily standing over the stove top flipping and flipping waiting for it to be the exact crispness I like, and talk about getting bacon grease splatters everywhere, no thank you.

Cooking delicious bacon shouldn’t be rocket science; with this cooking method, you just set it and forget it. Oh yea, you have to flip it once, big whoop.

AND, it works on regular or thick-cut bacon, so if you were worried about the thickness of the bacon being an issue, it’s not. It just needs a minute or two longer.

Bacon in Air Fryer, who knew?! My new favorite way to enjoy this meaty treat – perfect air fryer bacon.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

CAN I COOK BACON IN AN AIR FRYER?

Yes! You get the crispiest bacon from cooking it in the air fryer.

When I have a recipe now that uses cooked bacon, I always make it this way. It’s just easy and allows me to focus on other elements of the recipe I’m working on.

Plus, the excess fat drips off into the bottom of the air fryer. To me, this means easier clean up, since it is all contained in the appliance.

DO I NEED THE FLIP THE BACON HALFWAY THROUGH?

Yes, once you open the air fryer basket during the first half of the cook, you will notice the bacon has shifted around considerably. This is from the hot air circulating around the air fryer.

You will need to flip them over and realign them so they will cook evenly.

CAN I USE THICK-CUT BACON?

Yes, you will place the thick-cut strips of bacon into the air fryer the same way.

They will cook at the same temperature, 350°F. The only difference will be, they will need 2-3 minutes longer.

This of course depends on your personal preference of how well done and crispy you like it, so cook time will vary.

If it is your first time, I would start at the lower cook time and go up from there.

HOW TO PREVENT MY AIR FRYER FROM SMOKING

You could put a little water, about a tablespoon into the bottom of the air fryer basket if you are worried about smoking. A little bit of water really helps.

You can also clean out the bottom of the air fryer between cooking batches if you need more.

This is the air fryer I use and love:

HOW TO STORE:

Store leftover bacon in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat bacon in the air fryer for 1 minute until warm.

Freeze for up to 3 months.

Place leftovers in the freezer in a freezer-safe container. To thaw, place the dish in the fridge overnight.

DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • No need to spray the air fryer with cooking spray.
  • Can you regular or thick-cut bacon, cooking time may vary
  • Use as-is or in recipes that use crispy cooked bacon or crumbled bacon.
  • Freezes well, see tips above on how to store.
