Today we are sharing the highlight of any Holiday dinner, the MEAT (sorry, vegetarians!). It’s Slow Cooker Turkey Breast that you won’t soon forget.

This recipe for Slow Cooker Turkey Breast is the easiest way to cook a tender, flavorful bird without wrestling a whole turkey in the oven!

HERE IS WHAT OUR READERS ARE SAYING:

“This looks amazing!!! I am not a huge turkey fan but I am definitely giving this a try. I am always nervous things dry out without liquid but that doesn’t seem to be the case in your photos.” – Jen W

Aside from the big family dinner with all the relatives I like to make a smaller Thanksgiving day meal just for our small family.

So I just use a turkey with a double breast, no other parts attached. You can find these easily around this time of year. This will easily serve 6 people!

Can you think of anything better than a boneless turkey breast simmering in your slow cooker, soaking up all those cajun spices?

I made my own cajun seasoning for this slow cooker recipe because Jeremy can’t eat anything spicy. Feel free to use whatever cajun seasoning you like or follow my mild version below.

Plug in your crockpot and let’s make this Slow Cooker Turkey Breast that’s so easy, you’ll want to make it again and again!

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

  1. Juicy and Tender – Slow cooking keeps the tender turkey breast moist—say bye-bye to dry turkey breasts!
  2. Big Cajun Kick – The garlic powder and spices add a zesty great flavor.
  3. Hands-Off Magic – Pop it in the crockpot and forget it. The easier, the better!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR THE FULL RECIPE CARD):

  • Turkey breast portion, dethawed
  • Carrots, washed and cut in half
  • Celery stalks, cut in half
  • White onion, cut in large chunks
  • Garlic cloves, no peel
  • Bay leaves

For the Seasoning:

  • Season salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Ground black pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Dried oregano
  • Dried thyme

HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER TURKEY BREAST:

  1. For the seasoning: Mix all ingredients together. Place in an air tight container or zip lock bag until ready to use.
  2. For the turkey: In the bottom of your crock pot, place the vegetables, garlic and bay leaves.
  3. For the turkey, take 2 tsps of the cajun seasoning blend and rub it all over the outside and under the skin. Place this on top of the vegetables in the slow cooker.
  4. Let this cook on low for 4-6 hours or high 3-5 hours. Make sure to check the inside temperature using a thermometer, you want it to read at least 165 degrees.
  5. Take the turkey out the crock pot and remove the meat section by cutting down alone the breast bone. Cut into slices and serve with your desired sides!
  6. If you want to make a gravy, you can thicken the drippings that accumulated in the bottom of the crock put with a cornstarch slurry mixture, after taking out the bay leaves and vegetables.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature—when it hits 165 degrees F in the thickest part, your delicious turkey is ready!

No guesswork, just juicy perfection.

Yep, but thaw that frozen turkey breast first!

A frosty bird won’t cook right in the slow cooker—it’d be like trying to grill an iceberg.

Pop it in the fridge overnight, and you’re good to go!

Turkey is great like that. There are all kinds of different ways to make it!

  • Fresh Herbs – Toss in some rosemary—earthy and yummy with your juicy turkey breast!
  • Cranberry Sauce – Spoon it on—sweet and tart, like a Thanksgiving recipes hug!
  • Homemade Gravy – Drizzle some flavorful gravy—gravy makes everything better, right?
  • Garlic – Add extra garlic cloves. I don’t know if I can ever have enough garlic.
  • Onions – Throw in more white onion chunks.
  • Olive Oil – Brush a little bit on top—shiny and tasty!
  • Potatoes – Mix in sweet potatoes—cozy and colorful.
  • Thyme – Sprinkle more—herby goodness for your turkey recipe.
  • Pepper – Dash on extra black pepper—spicy kicks for fun!
  • Caramelized Carrots – Top with these—sweet and crunchy.

I’ve got kids, I know how it goes. Sometimes you need to have options!

Mix it up with these swaps if you’re missing stuff or want a twist:

  • Bone-in Turkey Breast – Use this instead of boneless turkey breast—still tender and juicy!
  • Chicken Broth – Sub for some water under the turkey—adds a chicken stock flavor boost.
  • Instant Pot – Cook it here instead of the slow cooker. Another quick and easy solution.
  • Kosher Salt – Swap for season salt—salty goodness with a twist!
  • Onion Powder – Use extra if you’re out of white onion. It’s got a little different flavor but still works well.
  • Butter – Rub unsalted butter instead of spices. Simple, rich and smooth!

Refrigerator:

Pop leftovers in an airtight container and chill in the fridge for 3–4 days—perfect for turkey sandwiches or a sneaky snack next time!

Freezer:

Tuck slices in a sealed bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw and reheat—still a moist turkey breast when you’re craving it!

DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Veggie Bed – Lay those carrots and celery in a single layer. Lock in the flavor.
  • Rub It Good – Massage that garlic powder mix all over. Get it under the skin like a turkey spa day!
  • Check the Heat – Use an instant-read thermometer—165 degrees F is your magic number.
  • Lid On Tight – Make sure it fits—no steam escapes, or it’s drier than my last joke, haha!
  • Gravy Trick – Stir a little bit of cornstarch into the drippings—homemade gravy thicker as can be.
  • Rest Easy – Let it sit after cooking. This keeps it’s own juices locked in.

There you go, friends! Slow Cooker Turkey Breast that’s juicy, spicy, and crazy easy!

It’s the perfect way to enjoy turkey anytime. Slice it up, dig in, and enjoy!
