White Peach Sangria

So, Hubby and I were wanting a little something special to help ring in the New Year. We absolutely LOVE the Peach Sangria that you can get at Carrabba’s so I was on the hunt for great sangria recipe! I stumbled upon a few and found one I really liked that had a nice balance of fruits. If you follow me on Pinterest (if you don’t you know you want to! *wink*) you would know I pinned this recipe a few days before NYE. You can find that original recipe here. But, you know me I had to make it my own so here is the version I whipped up!

This is super duper easy to make and I suggest making it at least 24 hours in advance. This is like a fine spaghetti sauce or stew, the longer it sits the better! You shall need these ingredients:

(enough ingredients for a DOUBLE batch):

2 ea                       White Wine, bottles, I chose a Chardonnay (next time I make this I will probably go for a sweeter wine like a                                        Riesling but this came out great too!)

2 Cups                   Frozen Peaches (or half a bag like in the picture)

2/3 Cup                Peach Schnapps (We used the leftovers for fuzzy navels! YUM!)

1 ea                       Pineapple Slices, canned in juice

2 Cups                  Frozen Strawberries

1/2 Cup               Granulated Sugar

1/4 Cup               Water

First of all I took the sugar and water and melted it on the stove to form a simple syrup and then sat that on the side to cool. Next, I took a large stock pot and dumped the pineapple with juice in the bottom, I cut the slices into quarters. Place the remaining fruits in the pot

and add the rest of the ingredients.  I made this about 48 hours in advance. After all that time I did strain out the fruits and kind of smushed them to get any remaining liquid out. Now this is completely optional I just thought maybe the fruit would start to ferment and get icky. But, make it how you wish! I even ate some of the fruit, it was pretty strong with alcohol but still nummy. So, needless to say we had a great New Year’s Eve at home! I hope you enjoy this recipe and if you try it out let me know how it goes! Thanks for reading!

  13. We had the most delicious Peach Sangria at Carrabba’s just last night. And here I am today – online hunting the recipe. Thanks for having it right there ready for me! We’re invited to a cookout in two days, so I guess I’d better get busy smashing those peaches! 🙂 My waitress did tell me that they use White Zinfandel, so I’m going to start off with that this time around.

By the way – at World Market they have a White Sangria that I really like–by Ed Harvey. YUM!! Hummmm…maybe I should start off with THAT for my recipe.

  14. LOL, sounds great!! Thanks so much for the tip and for checking out the recipe!
