It’s always nice to have an adult drink that you can relax with. This one is especially nice for those colder days of the year.

This is a staple at our adult holiday parties and is one of my personal favorite alcoholic drinks. I’m a huge sucker for hot chocolate and this spiked version is amazing.

Plus I love that white hot chocolate is literally effortless and can be made in mere minutes! Easy, tasty, and fun all rolled into one. You really can’t get much better than that.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

We like the coffee flavor that is added to the white hot chocolate in this recipe but it is not necessary to use Kahlua.

Some other options for alcoholic mix-ins include vanilla vodka, Rumchata, rum, bourbon, amaretto, or Baileys.

Whatever your favorite liquor that works with white chocolate will be amazing.

Yes! There shouldn’t be any reason that you couldn’t make this is the crock pot. Simply add everything into a crock pot besides the Kahlua and stir together.

Heat on low for 3 hours or high for 1 1/2 hours whisking every so often to distribute the chocolate chips and make sure they are melting.

Add Kahlua to each glass then pour hot chocolate over the top, we do not want the alcohol to cook out of this recipe while in the crock pot.

This works best if you are making a larger batch.

Absolutely, just leave out any of the alcohol, the measurements for everything else can stay the same.

This delicious treat is easy to add to. With just a handful of ingredients you can make this all your own!

  • Top with whipped cream and sprinkle white chocolate shavings for a decadent drink.
  • Add a pinch of salt to enhance the vanilla flavor and sweetness.
  • Stir in a dash of peppermint schnapps for a festive twist during the winter season.
  • Garnish with crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for a sweet treat.
  • Drizzle white chocolate sauce over the top for extra creamy white chocolate goodness.
  • Sprinkle with a touch of cocoa butter powder for a richer flavor.
  • Add a splash of Irish cream instead of coffee liqueur for a different boozy kick.
  • Serve with a side of homemade white chocolate cookies for the whole family to enjoy.
  • Mix in a teaspoon of milk powder to make it extra creamy.
  • For a fun way to serve, rim the mugs with melted white chocolate and dip in sprinkles.

I love a delicious drink with a kick. How about you? Such a cozy treat for a chilly day!

  • Whole milk: Substitute with almond milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free option with lower fat content.
  • Coffee liqueur: Replace with dark chocolate liqueur or Irish cream based on your personal preference.
  • White chocolate chips: Use chopped white chocolate bars or good quality chocolate for a smoother melt.
  • Vanilla extract: Swap with vanilla bean paste for a more intense vanilla flavor.
  • Kahlua: Omit the alcohol for a non-boozy version, making it suitable for the whole family.
  • Sugar: If you have a sweet tooth, add a touch of additional sweetener like honey or maple syrup.

This is great to store in a lidded container or mason jars if you have leftovers then place them in the refrigerator.

This should last for up to 4-5 days. To reheat add to a pot on the stove and stir to heat and redistribute the chocolate.

DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for this.
  • This can be made in the crock pot, see my tips above.
  • Top with your favorite toppings like whipped cream and marshmallows.
