We absolutely love our air fryer and use it whenever we can. This time, we used it for breakfast with this Cinnamon-Raisin Air Fryer Bagel.
These have to be some of my favorite bagels ever. They are so full of flavor and they really take minimal effort to put together, not something you would think when you hear the word bagel.
You should know that I love the air fryer. It makes a simple recipe even quicker. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you can also make a lot bigger batches than you would think.
With a little bit of sweetness and a pop of flavor from the cinnamon, these are not too overpowering but have the perfect balance of flavors.
These Air Fryer Bagels have become one of our go-to breakfasts. We just can’t get enough, although we make plenty of other flavors this one is my favorite.
Sure, traditional bagels will always have their place. But why not do something a little different with your homemade bagels?
This Air Fryer Bagel really saves me a trip to the grocery store and they make the perfect amount for our family! So I will just say that this is a great recipe for anyone who wants to make homemade rather than store-bought.
Some of my other favorite breakfast recipes we have on our site include: Pecan Sticky Buns, Ricotta Pancakes and Baked Chocolate Chip Donut Holes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
WHY DO I NEED OLIVE OIL SPRAY?
This is the safest non-stick spray for your air fryer.
It does not build up residue in it as your normal spray would, so this is usually what is recommended for air fryers.
You can also use a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer basket if you do not own any olive oil spray, this works just as well.
HOW LONG DO THESE TAKE TO COOK?
These Air Fryer Bagels only take about 10 minutes or less to cook up in the air fryer!
You will know that they are done because the tops will be nice and brown.
CAN I MAKE A DIFFERENT FLAVOR?
Yes, you don’t have to make cinnamon raisin bagels! Start with the base of the recipe, the flour and yogurt which would make a plain bagel, then add whatever you want!
Here are some fun options:
- Sesame seeds
- Poppy seeds
- Cheddar cheese
- Everything bagel seasoning

ANY ADDITIONS?
Yeppers! From mix-ins to your favorite bagel toppings, I’ve got a good list of ideas for you.
- Sunflower Seeds: Add sunflower seeds into the dough for a nutty crunch.
- Peanut Butter: Spread peanut butter on your warm bagel for a delicious protein boost.
- Cottage Cheese: Top with cottage cheese for a creamy and tangy flavor and a twist on cream cheese.
- Chewy Bagels: Add some extra raisins for more bursts of sweetness.
- Fresh Bagel: Brush with melted butter before serving for a richer flavor.
- Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and sugar on top before air frying for a sweet crust.
- Greek Yogurt: Top with a dollop of plain nonfat Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey for a tangy-sweet combination.
ANY SUBSTITUTIONS?
I’ve even made protein bagels before. Throw in a little protein powder! It was a little odd the first time, haha.
- Greek Yogurt: Substitute plain nonfat Greek yogurt with full-fat yogurt for a richer texture.
- Raisins: Use golden raisins instead of regular raisins for a different flavor profile.
- Self-Rising Flour: If you don’t have self-rising flour, use regular flour and add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt.
- Vanilla Extract: Substitute with almond extract for a unique flavor.
- Olive Oil Spray: Use parchment paper inserts if you don’t have olive oil spray.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature where they will keep for up to 2-3 days.
You can reheat these in the toaster, as we like them toasted.
Freeze in an airtight container for 3 months.
DANA’S TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Make sure you use self rising-flour for this recipe, or you can make your own self-rising flour.
- We like regular raisins, but this should also work with golden if you like them!
- We feel like the flavor is a great blend, but if you want more cinnamon, feel free to add more.
- These are great toasted with a little bit of butter.
- You can top these with various toppings, see above for some ideas.
- Use parchment paper if you do not have olive oil spray.
