Fettina Pizzaiola {Sliced Beef in Tomato Sauce}

Fettina Pizzaiola (Stewed Beef in Tomato Sauce)
Hearty, savory and incredibly satisfying, Fettina Pizzaiola is a delicious dish that comes together in under an hour.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of sliced beef not too thick
- 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes fresh very ripe or canned nothing added
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil or 4 or 5 fresh leaves of basil chopped
- 1 clove of garlic chopped
- dash of hot pepper flakes if desired
- 1/4 cup of water
Instructions
- In a medium frying pan add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, add the meat, tomatoes,salt, oregano,garlic, hot pepper flakes (if desired) and basil, then drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add the water.
- Cook with the lid 1/4 uncovered for approximately 25 minutes (turning after 15 minutes), then uncover and raise heat and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes until thickened. Enjoy!
