Copycat Harry Potter Butterbeer Recipe

Ingredients

For the topping:

1 cup heavy whipping cream
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon butter extract
⅓ cup butterscotch syrup plus more for serving, optional

For the butterbeer:

Place the heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and butter extract into a medium-sized bowl. With an electric hand mixer, whip until stiff peaks form.

Add the butterscotch syrup to the bowl and fold it in gently until there are no streaks left. Place the bowl into the fridge until ready to serve.

In a large bowl or pitcher, add about 1 cup of the cream soda, the butterscotch syrup, and butter extract. Whisk until the syrup has dissolved into the soda.
2 liters chilled cream soda, ⅓ cup butterscotch syrup, ¾ teaspoon butter extract
Add the rest of the soda to the bowl/pitcher and stir to combine.
Add butterbeer to glasses. Top with the butterscotch whipped cream and more butterscotch syrup if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Easily double this recipe to make more for more people.
The whipped topping really makes this drink but you can use cool whip.
This can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator separately.
This is best served chilled.
