Meet Sherman

Sherman is the newest member of our kitchen crew, and the only one who has never washed a single dish.

Meet Sherman, the official taste tester of This Silly Girl’s Kitchen. Self appointed. Nobody gave him the job.

Sherman is a poodle. He was born on December 6, 2025, so he’s still very much a puppy, and he acts like it every single day.

We didn’t name him. He came with it. The family we got him from had already called him Sherman, and it stuck.

The taste tester

Here’s the problem with putting a puppy in a recipe testing house. Every single thing we make, he wants. He begs for all the human food he can get, and I’d love to tell you we’re strict about it.

We’re not. Well, I’m not the problem. Gramps is.

Gramps has spoiled him rotten. Every chance he gets, Sherman gets a little something. The plan is simple: feed the dog, and the dog likes you best. And it’s working. Gramps, we see you.

The cat food heist

We also have cats. Sherman knows exactly where they eat. He jumps up on the counter and helps himself to their dinner like it’s his own.

He’s a puppy with a counter problem. We’re working on it.

His people

Sherman loves the whole family, but he has two favorites. Lizzie, because she’s his person. And Gramps, because, well, see above.

As far as I can tell, Sherman runs in four modes:

  1. Begging
  2. Waiting for Gramps
  3. Looking at the cat food
  4. Asleep

Every day with him is pretty darn funny. We haven’t had the big story yet. Give him time. He’s not even one.

He turns one on December 6. You’ll be seeing a lot more of him on our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, so come say hi. And if you want to see what he’s always begging for, start with our dinner recipes or our desserts.

Thanks for letting our family, and our dog, into your kitchen.
