Instructions

Whisk the water and all-purpose flour in a small bowl until smooth and set aside.
1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Lay an eggroll wrapper on a clean work surface with a pointy end facing you. Place ⅓ cup of the apple pie filling at the bottom third of the wrapper.
7 egg roll wrappers, 21 ounces apple pie filling
Take the bottom corner and fold it up over the filling. Dip your finger into the flour mixture and run it along the exposed edges of the wrapper.
Tuck both edges of the wrapper over the filling. Keep tightly rolling until you make a little log, and everything is sealed. Place on a plate while you continue rolling the rest of the egg rolls.
Heat a deep fryer or Dutch oven with 4 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F.
In a small, shallow bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon.
3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Very carefully place some egg rolls into the hot oil, do not crowd the fryer, only do a couple at a time, and fry until golden brown, 3-4 minutes. Make sure to flip them often so they brown evenly.
Using tongs, remove one of the eggrolls and let any excess oil drip off. Immediately place it into the cinnamon sugar and roll it around until coated.
Place the coated eggroll on a wire rack over a sheet tray to catch excess cinnamon sugar that may fall off.
Repeat with the remaining eggrolls and serve warm with caramel sauce for dipping.

Notes

Nutrition calculated without caramel sauce.

Make sure the egg roll is completely sealed before frying to avoid the filling leaking out.
Don’t overcrowd the deep fryer or skillet, fry them in batches if needed.
Always let the egg rolls cool a bit before rolling them in cinnamon sugar to avoid burning yourself.
If you’re serving these at a party, prepare the rolls beforehand and fry them up when you’re ready to serve.
Use a clean work surface for rolling to avoid any sticking or tearing.
Always remember to store leftover egg rolls in the fridge and reheat them in the oven or air fryer for best results.
