Instructions
Add the flour, sugar, and baking powder to the bottom of a large mug.
1/4 cup all-purpose flour,
2 tablespoons granulated sugar,
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Stir well to combine.
Add the milk, oil, and vanilla, stir to combine until there are no lumps.
3 tablespoons milk,
2 tablespoons vegetable oil,
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Cook for 1 minute in the microwave.
Allow to sit for 1 additional minute in the microwave without opening the door.
Serve immediately or add frosting and sprinkles if using.
2 tablespoons vanilla frosting,
Sprinkles for garnish
Notes
Grease the mug lightly with cooking spray for easy cleanup.
Stir batter until smooth, but don’t overmix—tiny lumps are fine.
Add a tiny pinch of salt to balance sweetness.
Let the cake sit 1 minute in the microwave after cooking; this sets the crumb.
If the center looks wet, zap in 10‑second bursts to avoid over‑baking edges.
Serve with fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream for a café look.
