Slow Cooker Ginger Chicken


  • This recipe is good for 12 thighs or 6 breasts or any combination.
  • 1 Cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 Cup lemon-lime soda
  • 3/4 Cup white vinegar
  • 4 each garlic cloves minced
  • 3 Tbls soy sauce
  • t tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbls fresh ginger minced, skin removed
  • 1 tsp black soy sauce optional


  • Mix all the ingredients except for the chicken together in a bowl.
  • Pour 1/4 of the sauce into your crock pot. Put the chicken in the crock pot and pour the rest of the sauce on top. You can mix this around some to make sure all the chicken is coated in the sauce.
  • Let this cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat 4-6 hours.
  • When its done cooking, take out the chicken and set aside.
  • Place the sauce in a sauce pot over medium high heat and thicken with a cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water mixed) until your desired thickness.
  • Serve over rice with extra sauce on top! YUM!!
