Cut the bacon into 1/2 inch strips. In a sauce pot, fry bacon over medium low heat and set aside. Saving the bacon drippings, turn the heat up to medium high.
Drain the green beans and place them into the hot bacon grease. Be careful because the hot grease might pop when the wet beans hits it. Let the beans fry for a couple minutes in the oil.
Next, add the dried spices into the pan. Stir to combine. This helps the spices release their flavor and aroma.
Now, fill the can that the beans came in with water and pour that over the mixture. This should cover the beans but if you need a little more, add it so the beans are covered. Add the tomato paste (I love using that kind in the tube, so easy!) and stir until it dissolves into the water. Let this simmer, stirring occasionally.
These are done after about 10 minutes of simmering but if you want to wait, just put a top on them and keep them over low heat until you’re ready to serve!

You can sprinkle the bacon over then beans when serving or is it as a topper on another dish!
