Ingredients
Chili Sauce
1poundground beefI used ground chuck
8ozcrushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
1/3Cupketchup
1/4Cupwater
1teaspoonyellow mustard
1teaspoonchili powder
1/2teaspoonground cumin
1/4teaspoonsoy sauce
1/4teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
1/4teaspoongarlic powder
1/4teaspoononion powder
pinchof ground ginger
pinchof cinnamon
salt and pepper to taste
Chili Cheese Hot Dogs
1package Ball Park Park's Finest hot dogsI used the signature seasoned variety
Sharp cheddar cheeseshredded
Potato Bread hot dog bunsor buns you prefer
Instructions
Chili Sauce
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Drain fat. Place dried spices in pan with the beef and mix together. Let "fry" in the fat for 30 seconds so the flavors get aromatic, add in the remaining ingredients except for salt and stir to combine. Cover and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure nothing sticks to the pan. Taste and season if necessary. Set aside.
Chili Cheese Hot Dogs
Grill hot dogs over medium heat until cooked through. Serve in the hot dog buns with the chili sauce and top with cheese. You can add other toppings as well that you love, chopped onions, mustard, whatever you desire! Enjoy!
