Ingredients
6
tablespoons
heavy cream
¾
cup
dark brown sugar
packed
4
tablespoons
unsalted butter
1
tablespoon
light corn syrup
½
teaspoon
baking soda
¼
teaspoon
fine sea salt
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
Instructions
In a medium-sized saucepot, place the heavy cream, dark brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, baking soda, and salt.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until everything is melted and combined. Once at a boil, reduce the heat to low.
Simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t boil over.
Take off the heat and whisk in the vanilla.
Let cool slightly and serve.
Notes
Make sure you use dark brown sugar, that is essential.
You do not want this to boil over, so make sure that you keep an eye on it!
This will thicken as it sits, you can heat in microwave until your desired thickness.
Serve in or over so many desserts, see my suggestions above.
