Sesame Green Beans

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound fresh green beans stems removed
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds


  • In a large skillet over medium high heat add in the vegetable oil. Add the green beans to the pan, toss in the oil, sear and blister the skins of the green beans. Continue this, stirring and flipping the pan constantly for 5 minutes.
  • Add two tablespoons of water to the pan and cover, lower heat to medium-low and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Take off the cover and let cook until any leftover water evaporates. Season with the garlic powder, salt, pepper and sesame oil, toss to coat. Serve, garnish with sesame seeds.
