Tropical Breakfast Banana Split, yummy tropical flavors brighten up breakfast with this version of a banana split!
Hi all! I’m going to share with you today a little bit of our diet and how I have been incorporating LACTAID® into our everyday meals/lives!
First of all, if you weren’t aware already, Jeremy is lactose intolerant. Which, as you can image
can be kind of a struggle sometimes when I cook for us. Thankfully, with the line of LACTAID®
Dairy Products, it isn’t as hard anymore.
We are also on an overall diet/lifestyle change. And let me tell you, it is harder than ever to get
these pounds off! I guess we just have to face the facts; we are getting older and getting older
equals a slower metabolism!
So, without further ado, I’m going to show you how I fit LACTAID® Milk, LACTAID® cottage
cheese and LACTAID® ice cream into our daily routine!
First off, breakfast.
Hence the title of this post, Tropical Breakfast Banana Split! Instead of ice cream, I used
LACTAID® cottage cheese! I was inspired by Natural Noshing for this recipe!
Tropical Breakfast Banana Split
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana split length wise
- 1/2 Cup LACTAID® cottage cheese
- 1 Tablespoon crushed pineapple drained
- 1 Tablespoon orange marmalade mixed with 1 teaspoon hot water
- 1 Tablespoon toasted coconut
Instructions
- Place split banana in a bowl. Mix LACTAID® cottage cheese with the pineapple, place on top of the banana. Spread marmalade on top and garnish with toasted coconut, enjoy!
As you can tell, this breakfast banana split comes together in no time! It is so yummy, fruity and
creamy!
Next, lunch comes around super fast. I have been making myself a smoothie each day. That’s
where the LACTAID® milk comes in handy!!
You can’t go wrong with a smoothie, it is very filling and helps to get me to dinner.
Dinner normally consists of a starter salad, some type of grilled chicken, fish or shrimp and tons
of veggies.
But, as you know I have one killer sweet tooth. By the end of the night I’m craving just a bite or
two of something…. here comes the LACTAID® ice cream!
I just have a 1/2 cup, at 150 calories it’s not too bad. Topped off with some left over pineapple
from breakfast and I’m good to go!
I don’t have ice cream every night, just when I feel like I have earned a little extra treat. A huge
point I have come to find out while dieting is not to totally deprive yourself. Just a little bit of
your favorites in moderation will keep you going strong on your diet longer.
But, the star of my day was definitely breakfast!
What I love about these LACTAID® products is that you literally cannot tell a difference from
regular milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, etc. It is just as creamy and delicious as the real deal…
because it is!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have you tried LACTAID® yet? If so, which products are
your favorite?
