Summer is almost here and that means bikini season is well… NOW, surprise! I know, the days and weeks and months just seem to sneak up on you and before you know it, you’ll be seeing another fall wreath from me. Sorry in advance. 😉 But, this time of year is really the biggest struggle for me. Since I stopped working in restaurant kitchens and found the love of my life, all those pesky calories just seem to add up quicker. I was at my all time highest weight in the beginning of the year and lost around 10 pounds. But, along with diets, you get so deprived that the pounds start adding up again and before I knew it 5 of those pounds I worked so hard to lose were back again. That’s when I realized I needed to take care of that… STAT and started the 14 day Slimdown with Slimfast!
What I like so much about the 14-Day Slimdown is they have it all set out for you, like… dummy proof! Here’s how it works:
- Swap out two meals daily with a Slimfast protein shake or meal bar (I’m LOVING the “Have Your Cake…” flavor)
- 3rd meal of the day must be 500 calories
- You have the option to enjoy 3 snacks a day, they need to be 100 calories or you can have fruit
- Do NOT exceed 1200 calories a day
- Do 30 minutes of light to medium exercise a day, make sure to drink lots of water!
This flavor just came out in April and I know it will be my favorite. It has 180 calories and should be eaten as a meal replacement. You get 5 bars in a package and they can be found at Target, mass store or drug stores nationwide for a SRP of $5.49. What I like most about the Have Your Cake… flavor it is just REALLY good! LOL, I have to be honest I was really surprised at how yummy it was. They are on the smaller side.
But they have a nice chewiness that is very satisfying. They really do keep my hunger under control for hours. And they are just really pretty… Is that weird that I like that about them??
One of my biggest downfalls of “dieting” is depriving myself of sweets. I don’t think I have a HUGE sweet tooth but for some reason when I know I can’t have it, I want it more. I tend to like sweets in the morning when I wake up then right before bed. So, having one of these Slimfast bars for breakfast really hits the spot.
What I’ve been doing to amp up my exercise is taking my dogs on longer walks. I admit it… I hate exercising… with a passion. BUT, being a blogger the one thing that gets worked out the most is my fingers. And we all see how well that’s working out for me! So, now that it’s getting, hot hot hotter here in Florida, taking longer walks gets my heart rate up and the sweating pouring off me. Yes, I do have to take more baths and that means more laundry… BOO, but it’s worth it to shed a few more calories a day.
My goal is to get back to where I was on our wedding day.
I still have about 12-15 pounds to go but I know with this 14-Day Slimdown from Slimfast it will be doable. Doing this slimdown, you will lose up to 6 pounds in the first 2 weeks, so if I stick it out for a month (fingers crossed!) I should be good to go!
