With the big game right around the corner I was wanting to try and find a way to make a super fun football party but without sacrificing my time. You know what I mean ladies (and other awesome party throwers!), we get all of these amazing ideas for our party, plan it out just how we want it and then when the day comes we end up stuck in the kitchen all day long instead of out enjoying the fruits of our labor! I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be having fun with my friends and watching the game then stressing over the perfect nacho platter. That’s why I put together this super fun and EASY football party yesterday to watch the games. I really wanted to show you how to have fun at your own game time party!
Planning the Ultimate Football Party
Number 1 step… don’t stress out!!! You know that huge frozen foods section in your grocery store? USE IT. Just like I did, I was doing my weekly shopping trip at WalMart…. like always…. and gave into temptation and just did. I bought ALL these goodies to throw my super fun rivalry football party:
I got a party sized Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat Sauce, two 12 count packs of Hot Pockets, the Ham & Cheese with Croissant Crust and the Pepperoni Pizza with Garlic Buttery Seasoned Crust, DiGiornio Rising Crust Supreme Pizza (ultimate man food), Edy’s Butterfingers Ice Cream and some Nestle Crunch Dipped Drumstick Cones. The Drumsticks are amazing… I may or may not have shared… more on that later, ahem.
Number 2 step…. decorate the night before. That’s right! I laid out all my decorations I got, some even from WalMart, score! I put up the streamers, laid out the tablecloth, made my labels, even put out my dishes where I wanted the different foods to go. I love being prepared and organized so I’m not running around like a chicken with my head cut off right before my guests arrive.
Number 3 step…. get started early! The great thing about getting these frozen items from WalMart is you just pop them in the oven, set a timer and forget about them. No real thinking involved, that way you can go about your morning getting yourself ready and presentable. I like doing this, cooking and having everything ready about 30 minutes before the party starts then 10 minutes before the guests arrive I just pop everything in the oven for about 5 minutes to get warm again and then set the table!
I did make a couple extra things to go with it. But there was really nothing to it, just have your Hubby man the grill with some sausages or you can make those ahead too and re-heat with everything else. Put out some pre-made chips and dip like my hummus and pita chips. Throw in some super easy parmesan potato bites, touchdown punch and the sausage fixings and you got yourself a party!
Who can resist a few extra treats? When shopping at WalMart I had the bakery ladies frost some cupcakes for us in our team colors!
Don’t you love the labels? hehe…
Number 4 step…. let your guests serve themselves! Not only is it a fun way to mingle but you don’t have to do a thing, just worry about your own plate!
We invited a bunch of our neighbors over for the football party… here’s a few action shots!
No party is complete without a puppy…
After everyone was done munching on the huge football spread, I served up the Edy’s Butterfingers Ice Cream (they also have a limited edition Touchdown Sundae flavor, I can’t wait to try it next!), it was a huge hit:
So all in all I was able to enjoy the game, my guests and had minimal clean up afterward. Mostly because the food was wiped out and I used paper plates and plastic silverware in team colors. That’s definitely number 5 step…. no dishes allowed!
What happened to those Nestle Crunch Dipped Drumstick Cones you ask? Well… someone was caught red handed.
Is it such a bad thing I wanted a little treat to myself after the festivities?? I didn’t think so either! Oh well, I ended up sharing in the end!
We had a great time and our guests left fat and happy. Just follow my easy steps and you too can have *in the announcers voice* “The Ultimate Football Party!!”
I’m sure the mentioned brands would love a follow and will love you forever in return!
