Planning a party can be as hard or easy as you’d like. To me, the simpler the better! Having intimate parties to me, are the most fun. Just a few friends or family members over for a nice comforting lunch and warm hospitality is perfect on a cold winter’s day!

I believe serving dishes that will surprise your guests is always fun. Make it simple, but something that everyone loves. A great spaghetti and meatball, simple roasted chicken or even pot pies will bring your guests right back to their childhood and instantly lighten the mood.

I planned this simple winter lunch for four and I personally think it came out great! I used a fun, colorful tablecloth that reminded me of the late winter months with just a hint of the spring to come.

All white plates to let the food shine and simple silver-wear, this party was meant to be low key and intimate. Fun, color coordinating cloth napkins added a huge pop of color with the tablecloth. I didn’t want to get too fussy with the centerpieces, I just grabbed items I had around the house already and make a cute candle holder with decorative twine.

For the beverage, I made my Sparkling Citrus Pomegranate Punch and poured it into 1960’s vintage glasses with matching pitcher.

I love the pop of color the pomegranate seeds give. Plus, the refreshing citrus kick pairs perfectly with the mini Marie Callender’s Pot Pies I served.

They come out perfectly every time and come in a cute little holder that you cook them in, no need for extra bake wear! I found mine while shopping for all the supplies for my winter party at Walmart in the frozen foods section.

To go along with the pot pies, I wanted some light to go along with them. I made a quick, simple salad of mixed greens, goat cheese and pomegranate seeds. Served with a light balsamic vinaigrette, it was the perfect accompaniment!

I also set up a side table so my guests could serve themselves punch and nibble on Mini Lemon Meringue Pies for dessert!

I had so much fun planning this party and it was so incredibly easy I didn’t stress at all! The pot pies cook for a good amount of time in the oven and during that time I got everything set up and ready!

Using premade comforting dishes like Marie Callender’s Pot Pies make entertaining so easy. They are especially a great option in winter because they are so warm and comforting with that golden flaky crust, YUM! You could get the larger version and serve it family style or like I did, the minis so everyone has one to themselves, and less mess I might add!

I hope you’re inspired and less intimated to throw a winter party!
