Mini Tiramisu, a make-ahead recipe, perfect for an afternoon snack, yummy weeknight dessert or dinner party!
Yes, another “mini” dessert. I just can’t help myself! I love making mini versions of classic desserts (all foods, really)! They are cuter, easier to prepare and pre-portioned, so what’s not to love?!

I love coffee and I’m always looking for new flavors to try out. I also love pairing desserts to go with an after dinner coffee or to have with my afternoon pick me up! I saw the new McCafé coffee options at Walmart while shopping and I had to try it out! I got the coffee pods in medium premium roast but there is also ground coffee too, so you can make it in any type of coffee machine you have!
There are 8 different flavors and McCafé coffee is made with 100% Arabica Beans. Also, harvested from the rich soils of mountainous regions in the foremost coffee-growing areas of the world!
I found the pods on the top shelf in the coffee and tea aisle and as soon as I got home I had to brew me a cup! lol
The medium premium roast flavor is very good and soothing. It’s a smooth flavor that isn’t harsh and would be great on it’s own. I love adding creamer to my coffee and it paired perfectly!
As soon as I had my afternoon cup of coffee, I got to work on these mini tiramisu because I wanted to have them after dinner with Jeremy. (And for my afternoon snack for the next day, shhh) It is a make ahead recipe, they take at least 4 hours to set up in the fridge so keep that in mind!
I actually love make ahead recipes. You can throw them together the morning of your party or get together and it’s good to go that evening, no stressing over a last minute dessert! You could even make these the day before, easy peasy!
Mini Tiramisu

Mini Tiramisu
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 Cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 Cup milk
- 1 1/4 Cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
- 1 package 3 oz lady fingers
- 1/8 Cup McCafé Coffee room temp
- 1 pound mascarpone cheese
- cocoa powder and chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- In a small sauce pot, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until smooth. Carefully whisk in the milk until fully mixed and set over medium heat on stove top. Whisking constantly, bring mixture to a slow boil. Boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Let cool slightly on counter top off the heat, cover and sit in fridge for 1 hour to cool.
- In a medium sized bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla with a hand mixer to form stiff peaks. Set aside.
- Mix the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.
- Place two lady fingers into the bottom of each ramekin. Brush first layer of cookies with half of the coffee. Layer a heaping tablespoon of the egg yolk mixture and smooth with a spoon. Layer a heaping tablespoon of the whipped cream next and smooth out the top. Repeat.
- Cover tiramisu with plastic wrap and let sit in fridge for 4-6 hours until set. Dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired. Serve with McCafé Coffee and enjoy!
Notes
Yummmy, this tiramisu is so rich and decadent with just a hint of coffee!
To make the chocolate shavings, just take any chocolate bar and use a peeler on it to get the curls!
I have been loving my little afternoon pick me ups with a mini tiramisu and hot McCafé coffee. I love the contrast of the cold dessert and hot beverage. So satisfying and the perfect way to spend a little me time.
Being a food blogger and working from home can honestly get pretty stressful. It might not seem like it, but working from home, I constantly feel like I should be doing something. I have to force myself to take a break and with this yummy dessert and coffee I don’t have to talk myself into it for too long! hehe
So, what do you think? Do you love tiramisu as much as I do? What is your go to dessert at Italian restaurants?

I love mini desserts too! I need some better sized ramekins though, mine are really too small for something like this.
Hi! I LOVE your “Bonjour” dishes! Will you share where you got them, please?
They were actually on clearance at my local Steinmart, thanks for noticing, I love them too!
My most favorite dessert ever and I do not like coffee!! I recently found mascarpone cheese now all I have to do is order lady fingers from Amazon
so I can make this. I also saw a cherry version on line that I’m anxious to try.
