Usually I tend to make the same things quite often, and as you would assume things can get kinda boring after a while. I’ve been trying to get in the habit of making a few new items each week for dinner to not only mix it up a bit but also to challenge myself. I love experimenting with new flavors and this is how I came up with today’s post, Greek Style Burgers. These were so so good and am delighted to be able to share the end result with you!
For the burger mix you will need:
1 lbs Ground Beef, I prefer ground chuck
1/8 Cup Feta, crumbled
2 T Worcestershire Sauce
1 T Garlic Powder
1 T Onion Powder
2 tsp Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste
Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
Form into 4 thin patties and fry in frying pan over medium to medium high heat. No oil needed since the meat has a good amount of fat in it. Let the pan get very hot first, to form a nice sear on the outside of the burgers. Do this in batches if not all the patties will fit at once.
Cook these until your desired temperature and set aside on a paper towel lined plate, to catch any drippings. Next, to assemble your burgers you will need:
Pita Bread
Pickeled Onions
Cucumbers
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Feta Cheese
Tzatziki Sauce
Place pita in microwave for 15 seconds. Gently open the pita with a knife almost all the way leaving a little bit attached. Spread both sides of pita with tzatziki sauce.
Place burger in pita, cut burger into smaller pieces if desired.
Place some of the lettuce and tomatoes into a small bowl and toss with more tzatziki sauce. Place this on top of burger patty, followed by the remaining ingredients. Then, Place top of pita over the ingredients and “roll” like a burrito.
Now, serve with your desired side, I served with my Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts. This is so so yummy! I got many compliments from the Hubs on this one! I hope you try this out and enjoy it!
