Yes, I made a craft! You know me, if it isn’t extremely simple then I just can’t find the time to make it!
Luckily, this jingle bell acorn garland is a breeze to make and came out so cute! I love that with this tutorial you can make this garland to match your decor! I’m going with a metallic/rustic/black/cream/grey theme this year. I know, what a combo!
I just love mixing patterns and textures while keeping with an overall theme.
All you need for this craft is 12 feet twine, around 40 jingle bells, 20ish medium sized buttons, 20ish tiny buttons, hot glue gun and tape.
I bought 40 jingle bells but ended up using around 36 of them, it just depends on how close you place your bells on the string. I am SO not a stickler for doing anything precisely.
The first step is to find the middle of the twine. Then feed the twine through the top of the bell, and bring it to the center of the twine. Tie it in a simple knot. Now, repeat on either side of this first bell, about 2-4 inches of twine between each one until about 4 inches of twine is left on each side.
A tip for easily feeding the twine through the bell tops is to add a tiny piece of tape at the ends, that way the twine won’t unravel!
Next, lay out all the buttons and get that glue gun ready.
Hot glue the larger/medium sized buttons on the the tops of the bells, where the twine is knotted.
I picked up a huge back of mixed buttons from the craft store in this silvery grey color. You pick whatever color you like! They all vary in shapes and sizes and I think that adds a fun touch.
Now that you have place all the medium buttons on, go back and add a tiny button on top, making the top of the acorn!
That’s it! So easy!!
I really really love how this came out, it is such a fun addition to my hutch!
Get ready because next week I have a beautiful Thanksgiving tablescape to share!!
You will get to see this garland in act on there too, they don’t always have to be hanging!
