With the big game right around the corner I’m sure you have been thinking of some fun ideas, either for a football party or just for you and your honey snuggled on the couch rooting for your favorite team. One of my favorite things to do for special occasions is having a bunch of appetizers to munch on. That way I don’t have to worry about having a big meal ready and missing some of the action. To help make my day easier I often use the convenience of the frozen foods section at WalMart!
Game Day Appetizers: Potato Skins & Chicken Wings!
Like I’ve said before, I do the majority of my weekly grocery shopping at WalMart. So, while I was there last I spotted these yummy looking T.G.I. Friday’s frozen appetizers. They were actually in two areas of the frozen foods section. I found them here around the other frozen appetizers.
I limited myself to getting just the Loaded Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins and Honey BBQ Chicken Wings because it was just going to be Jeremy and I, and I didn’t want to over do it! I can’t wait to try the mozzarella sticks next, YUM!
I’ve got the inside scoop, T.G.I. Friday’s frozen appetizers will be at in-store demos at WalMart from January 30th- February 2nd. So, you will be able to sample these goodies before you purchase them, how cool is that?! I love being able to grab a little snack while shopping, hehe.
Once you taste these you will be picking up a box for yourself! They are both super yummy and SO easy to make. They both cook at the same temperature so I actually cooked mine together. I still followed the directions on the individual boxes but only had to dirty one tray, woot!
It’s actually really fun getting to toss your own wings in the Honey BBQ sauce. You just place your cooked wings in a bowl.
Then, according to the back of the box, add the amount of heat you like. I went with one full sauce packet, toss toss and you’re ready to eat! I also cut the Loaded Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins in half so it was more appetizer friendly.
I put a dollop of sour cream and some fresh cut scallions on each and that’s it! I served everything on a big platter and decorated it for the game, nothing too fancy because I knew this platter was going to be devoured!
The main reason I really love serving a variety of appetizers is because you get to sample so many different flavors. At a sit down meal normally everything kind of has to go together, one theme. But, with an appetizer tray you can have flavors from all over the World and it’s just much more relaxed. Not to mention, people get to serve themselves, that means more time for YOU to enjoy your own party! Sounds like a win win to me!
So, don’t forget to go check out the T.G.I. Friday’s frozen appetizers demo in WalMarts January 31st – February 2nd and don’t just take my word for it, sample these yummy treats and you be the judge!
