So, as you know I looooove to cook. Like, that is one of my biggest, if not THE biggest passion of mine. But, I have to be honest, some nights I just flat out don’t feel like cooking. This is especially the case in Summer. I live in Florida, it’s hot… it’s sticky and humid. The last thing I want to do is be slaving in the kitchen with the oven on full blast and sweat pouring off me. No thanks! With the weather fluctuating so much here lately I’ve really been wanting some easy family meal options during those hotter days. So, when I was in Walmart on my last shopping trip, I saw these Stouffer’s Skillets and thought I would give them a try.
While in the freezer section at Walmart I also picked up and saw these Outshine Fruit & Veggie Bars and Wonka Peel-A-Pops.
I have to be honest, as soon as I got home I had to tear into these Outshine Fruit & Veggie bars. They had a lot of different flavors but I got the Peach Mango Medley flavor and WOW, they are reallly good!
You know that we have been trying to eat healthier and a cold Summer treat like this is just what I like at night (or at any time really, lol!). This flavor was only 60 calories and I didn’t taste any veggies at all, mostly peach with a hint of mango, yum! I didn’t feel guilty about this treat at all! The Wonka Peel-A-Pops are low in calories too, only 70 calories each! They come in Vanilla Banana and Vanilla Grape flavors, yum!
So, as I was saying, I picked up these Stouffer’s Skillets, I got the garlic chicken flavor.
Before I started making it for dinner, I decided to just kinda look more into the nutrition and things on the label and I was shocked to see it was only 330 calories per serving! That means I can have pasta whenever I want, score!
There are also no preservatives, real white meat chicken and flash frozen vegetables, you can actually have REAL quick and easy meals, who knew?! So, I made up the skillet and we really enjoyed it! I really loved this skillet because it is a great home cooked meal.
I really liked how it got a nice sear and with only dirtying one pan, I will definitely be trying out more flavors lol! I think I’ll get the Garlic Shrimp flavor next, yum! It’s realllllly easy too, if you can read and know how to turn on your stove top burners, you can do this. Trust me! Now, with this super fast dinner you have more time to go outside, take a walk on the beach, catch a baseball game or just play with your kids in the back yard! Summertime to me is really all about Americana and just getting out and enjoying the outdoors no matter what activity you like to do! You can catch Jeremy and I taking walks on the beach or at our Minor League Baseball team park watching the Suns!
So, these items, especially the skillets are really a win win. They are yummy, inexpensive, fast and easy! That means less time getting sweaty in the kitchen and more time with your loved ones! So, what do you think? What will you be trying first??
