Hi there! I hope you’re ready for another Halloween treat! I know, I have been practically overloading you lately with all these goodies, but I just can’t help it! It’s that time of year where I just want to go sugar crazy and you’re here for the ride! LOL, but seriously these cute yet spooky Dr. Frankenstein’s monster cookies would just be a great way to bring little ones into the kitchen and let them decorate to their hearts content with these monster faces! SO fun!

Directions
In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl cream together the butter and the sugar with a hand mixer. Add the egg and vanilla and combine well. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients. Moisten the dough with a Tbls at a time of the milk until the mixture is just moist but not wet. Now, add in a few drops at a time of the green food coloring and mix until you get the color green you’re looking for. Now, put plastic wrap over the bowl and let sit in the fridge for an hour.
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees. Take rounded tsps of the dough and roll it into balls, placing them about 1 1/2 inches apart on a ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten the tops of the dough balls and sprinkle as many as you want with sprinkles, leaving the ones you want to decorate with faces plain.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden brown along the edges. Let cool on the sheet for two minutes then with a spatula transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Now, just use the black icing like this kind I found in the Halloween section:
And pipe on some cute simple faces, don’t forget the signature flat top and bolts!
Serve with a tall glass of milk and you’re in chewy sugar cookie Heaven, or in Dr. Frankenstein’s lair, mwah ha ha!
What do you think, will your kiddos like making these monster faces?!

Dana, these are so cute and so simple. I’m going to have to try these for my Halloween playgroup next week, especially since I just got black food coloring that I could easily make frosting with. Thanks for linking up to the Weekend re-Treat Party!
