Tools used to make Turkey Pinwheels Recipe:
These Turkey Pinwheels are like Thanksgiving dinner wrapped into a tortilla! You absolutely cannot go wrong with that flavor combination at all in my opinion!
Alternatives and Add-Ons:
I personally love the whole berry cranberry sauce because of the bits of cranberry. But, if you do not like a chunky sauce, use Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce instead!
You can also experiment with adding more herbs like thyme or chives instead of scallions. Also, add some ham or bacon on top of the turkey, go nuts, make these to your preference!
That’s what I really love about recipes like this one, they are so versatile and can be used as a starting point for adding your own spin on it.
Pinwheel Recipes you really can do whatever you want, they are so easy and like I said you can always make it your own, experimenting etc to find that perfect flavor.
What about you? Is turkey and cranberry one of your favorite holiday flavor combos? I can just see this huge platter of cranberry turkey pinwheels laid out at Friendsgiving! I know my friends will love them!
Can you make pinwheels ahead of time?
Yes, but I recommend making them at most a day early, but preferably 2-3 hrs before serving (storing in the refrigerator until read to serve).
It’s always nice to let the flavors combine a for little while but keep in mind if left too long the tortillas might start to get soggy.
How to store:
To store these Pinwheels you can place in an airtight container in the refrigerator and they will keep for up to 2-3 days, but I prefer that they are eaten within the first 24 hours.
These can also be frozen as well. I like to slice and then place on a parchment or wax paper lined tray and freeze for about an hour until firm.
I then transfer them to a airtight container where they will keep for up to 2 months, you can then remove them and let defrost in the refrigerator.
I don’t think I really have too say it again but I really love these Turkey Pinwheels Recipe, they are literally just bursting with flavor.
We like to make them at least once a year and like I said before we don’t just make them for the holiday’s we aren’t those people that think that things need certain times to be made!
Tips and Tricks:
- You can use any flavor of tortilla that you like with this pinwheel recipe.

How far in advance could these be made?
Dana DeVolk says
I would only make these one day before in the roll and then slice right before serving.
Pam says
Can I use leftover turkey in place of the sliced kind?
Dana DeVolk says
As long as it’s very thinly sliced it should work!
Lori Houck says
Could you put cheese on top and bake them to make it a warm appetizer?
Dana DeVolk says
Mmmmm, yes that sounds amazing! You could bake them as-is as well, no extra cream cheese 🙂

Good Afternoon;
I will be making these for Thanksgiving this year, thought I would try something different, I usually make my own pinwheels, (which are always a big hit), but want to try something different for a change.
My question is can I make these ahead of time and then freeze them? I would then take out of freezer day before Thanksgiving

Well the flavor is great but rolling them up is messy! The cranberry sauce pushes right out when trying to roll them up. I used les and less but still happens!

What brand of tortillas are you using to calculate just 7 carbs? I bought turkey-cranberry-creamcheese wraps in the grocery store for lunch & I wanted to replicate them. I came across your recipe & it sounds delish! Just need to know what tortillas to get. Thanks <3
Dana DeVolk says
The nutrition calculation on the recipe is through a program that I have no control over. So, I’m not sure what tortillas would be 7 carbs.

The cream cheese mixture is really nice, but the cranberry sauce is impossible. Even though I used the brand and amount suggested, it turned the pinwheels into a very wet mess. Perhaps dried cranberries would work better. I was hoping to make these for a tea, but they are too messy.
