Happy April! Ready for a new series?! Every week in April Parrish and I will be sharing a new Spring dessert, how fun! Normally I have seen these super cute Bird Nest “cookies” made with chow mein noodles. Well, I thought I would kick it up a notch and use two of my all time favorite flavor combos. Chocolate and peanut butter. AND chocolate covered pretzels… YUM! Then, you throw on top my favorite candy of all time… mini eggs! Ugh, these little nuggets of Heaven are addicting, watch out!
Bird Nests {Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels}
On the plus side, these are extremely easy to make, no bake!
Bird Nests {Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels}
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound pretzel sticks
- 2 Cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 Cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- Mini eggs
Instructions
- Place the chocolate, peanut butter and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second intrevals, stirring between each set. You should only need to microwave it twice, three times at the most. It is ready when it is totally smooth after stirring.
- Place the pretzels in the mixture, while adding them to the chocolate mix, break them up into smaller pieces with hands. Mix together until pretzels are coated.
- On a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper, scoop out a little bit of the pretzel mix. Using the spoon or your finger form it into a tight nest and make sure there is a small crater in the middle to hold at least one egg.
- Place mini eggs in crater. When finished making nests, let sit for at least an hour to let harden up. You can then store them in the fridge if you like a more set chocolate or hold in an air tight container on the counter.
- Serve and enjoy!

I’m pregnant with my second daughter, she’ll be here this April and we’re having a March shower. These are a perfect addition to the “So Tweet” themed party. I’ve seen variations with chinese noodles, but it just doesn’t sound right to me, this however is exactly what I was going for, down to the chocolate egg (we’ll only have one since there’s only one in the “nest”). Thanks for posting, I’m excited to get together with my girlfriends to make them for the shower, might reuse the recipe for Easter too!
